Dutch Team wins second game vs. China

PEORIA, Arizona (USA) - The Dutch National Baseball Team on Monday played its second game against the national team of China and won 8-3. On Saturday, the Orange squad won the first game with a 16-3 score.

The Dutch Team rallied for four runs in the first inning. The first five batters all reached base safely with a basehit. Randolph Obuber led off with a triple, then Nick Urbanus followed with an infield-hit. Next, Yurendell de Caster, Kalian Sams and Curt Smith also singled, before Dashenko Ricardo grounded into a double play. Dwayne Kemp and Michael Duursma followed with two more singles.

Three runs were added in the third at bat, which was highlighted by a double by Michael Duursma. A sac-fly by Dashenko Ricardo accounted for the eighth run in the fourth inning.

In the remainder of the game, the Dutch Team reached base frequently, but was unable to add more runs. Kalian Sams hit a triple in the sixth inning, while Curt Smith hit four of the 18 Dutch basehits.

China scored its runs in the second, fifth and seventh inning.
