UVV lone unbeaten team after shutout vs. Neptunus

On a stormy Thursday-evening, UVV became the unbeaten league-leader after a 6-0 shutout-win against DOOR Neptunus, which suffered its first loss of the new season.
Mampaey The Hawks, which made its big league-debut last week, registered its first win in the highest division.
After an initial big lead, The Hawks eventually nipped ADO Lakers, 9-8.
L&D Amsterdam Pirates won 6-3 to hand reigning champion Corendon Kinheim its first loss.
In this game, pitcher Rob Cordemans reached another milestone, as he moved into second place of the All-time Strikeout-list.
Vaessen Pioniers won its first game of the season, winning with a big 13-4 score against Mr. Cocker HCAW, which lost its fourth game in a row and is now the lone winless team.
UVV vs. DOOR Neptunus
At Vleuten, UVV's starting pitcher Jurjen van Zijl had a great outing tonight and gave up only one basehit to Neptunus in the 6 2/3 inning he was on the mound, while striking out seven batters.
Reliever Jerremyh Angela completed the seventh inning and added a hitless eighth at bat.
In the ninth, closer Duko Jansen gave up two hits to Neptunus, but held the Rotterdam-squad scoreless.
Since making its coming back in the big league in 2011, UVV won only one of the 12 games played against Neptunus through the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Offensively, UVV collected seven basehits and scored six runs off of Neptunus-ace Diegomar Markwell.
UVV decided the game early, holding a 6-0 lead after three innings.
After a scoreless first at bat, UVV rallied for four runs with two outs in the second inning.
With one out, Daan Cornelissen singled and was awarded second base on a balk.
Markwell then walked Joris van Ballegooy and Andy Raaf to load the bases.
A double by Norbert Jongerius then cleared the bases and gave UVV a 3-0 lead.
Moments later, Jongerius scored the fourth run on a single by Dennis Ribbens.
Two runs were added in the third inning.
Ricky Daal led off with a double and Giovanni Samboe walked.
With one out, a double by Brennan Nijhof accounted for the next run, as did a 2-out single by Andy Raaff.
From the fourth inning on, the Neptunus-pitching held UVV scoreless and gave up only two more additional basehits, but the damage had been done.
Neptunus reached base in seven of the nine innings, but was unable to score.
After leaving four runners in the first three innings, Rafaël Jozefa led off the fourth inning with a single, which was to be the lone hit in eight innings for the Rotterdam-squad.
Van Zijl walked Adrian Anthony in the seventh inning, then retired the next two batters.
Hereafter, Jerremyh Angela took over and ended the inning with a flyout.
He then retired the side in the eighth.
In the ninth, Duko Jansen gave up one-out singles to Benjamin Dille and Adrian Anthony, but then a force play and caught stealing ended the game.

Mampaey The Hawks vs. ADO Lakers
At Dordrecht, The Hawks rallied for five runs in the first inning against ADO Lakers and held a 7-0 lead after four innings.
From the fifth inning on, the lead got into jeopardy, as ADO Lakers came back into the game and trailed only 7-5 halfway the eighth inning.
The Hawks then scored two insurance runs, which proved to be needed, as ADO Lakers scored three runs in the top of the eighth, but ended up shorthanded.
After ADO Lakers had left two runners in the first inning, The Hawks struck with five unearned runs in the home half off of starter Ricky Voorn.
Shurendell Borgschot reached on an error, moved on a sac-bunt by Urving Kemp and scored on a single by Steven Wharwood.
A double by Bob de Bruijn, sac-fly by Berry van Donselaar, 2-run double by Berend Ruben and RBI-single by Niels McCartan then lifted the lead to 5-0.
Another run was added in the second inning off of new pitcher Rick van der Post when Borgschot walked and scored on a wild pitch.
The Hawks made it 7-0 in the fourth inning when Borgschot doubled and scored on a fielder's choice-grounder by Wharwood.
In the fifth inning, ADO Lakers started to come back when Gino Hersilia walked with one out and Rodney Michel homered with two outs.
Two runs were added in the sixth inning to narrow the deficit to 7-4.
In the at bat, Tim Schaareman walked and scored on a passed ball, while Wamaer Bordewijk reached on an error and scored on another error.
After The Hawks stranded two runners in the seventh inning, ADO Lakers scored another run in the eighth on an RBI-single by Bordewijk.
Leading now only 7-5, The Hawks took more distance in the home of the eighth when two runs were scored on a throwing error.
With a 9-5 lead, The Hawks brought in veteran pitcher Elton Koeiman to close the game in the top of the ninth inning.
But Koeiman, who is the announced starter for next Sunday, saw ADO Lakers come within one run, scoring three runs on four hits.
With one out, Ludwin Obispo and Rodney Michel singled, then a double-steal with two outs was followed by a throwing error, leading to a run.
An infield-hit held Michel at third base, but brought Quensley Bazoer to first base.
After the latter had stolen second base, Tim Schaareman followed with a single to bring in both runners and made it a 9-8 score.
The game then ended when Wamaer Bordewijk lined out.

L&D Amsterdam Pirates vs. Corendon Kinheim
At Amsterdam, Pirates rallied for five runs in the third inning, which gave the home team a decisive lead in a 6-3 win against reigning champion Kinheim.
Winning pitcher Rob Cordemans struckout seven batters and moved into second place on the All-time list.
Cordemans now has 1639 career strikeouts, passing Peter Callenbach, who has 1636.
Cordemans now only trails recordholder Bart Volkerijk.
After two scoreless innings, Amsterdam Pirates struck with five runs in the third inning off of starter David Bergman.
The bases got loaded when Michael Duursma and Jesse Aussems singled and Percy Isenia walked.
A force play-grounder by Wesley Connor then led to the first run, followed by an RBI-single by Bas de Jong.
An error on a grounder by Kenny Berkenbosch then made it 3-0 and with one out, Rashid Gerard singled in two more runs to raise the lead to 5-0.
Kinheim got two runs back in the fourth inning off of Rob Cordemans.
An error on a grounder by Ramiro Balentina and singles by Jeffrey Arends and Mervin Gario loaded the bases, then a grounder by Quintin de Cuba and a sac-fly by Roy Seltenrijch made it 5-2.
In the fifth inning, Cordemans added another chapter to his recordbook.
After Remco Draijer led off with a single and advanced on a balk, Cordemans struckout René Cremer to record his 1636th career strikeout and move into a tie with Peter Callenbach.
Cordemans then also struckout next hitter Dirk van 't Klooster the take possession of second place on the All-time list.
In the eighth inning, Kinheim got a chance to turn the game around in its favor, as it got the bases loaded off of rookie Daan Hendrix, who had taken over in the previous inning.
With one out, Jeffrey Arends reached on an error and Mervin Gario walked.
A strikeout followed, then Roy seltenrijch doubled in a run.
With runners on second and third base, pinch-hitter Bryan Engelhardt was walked intentionally to set up a force play.
Jurrian Koks was brought in as new pitcher and ended the threat when Remco Draijer grounded out.
Amsterdam immediately added an insurance run in the home of the eighth on a single by Percy Isenia.
In the end, the insurance run wasn't needed, as this was the last inning of the game, as the night game, curfew-rule of 10:30 PM had been reached.

Vaessen Pioniers vs. Mr. Cocker HCAW
At Hoofddorp, Pioniers won big vs. HCAW with a 13-4 score to register its first win of the season, while HCAW's losing streak was extended to four games.
At the windy site in Hoofddorp, Pioniers collected 20 basehits, including seven extra basehits, two of them homeruns.
HCAW hit seven basehits, including one homerun.
Pioniers opened the score in the first inning when Danny Rombley tripled and scored on a single by Vince Rooi.
Two runs were then added in the second at bat on doubles by Kevin Dirksen and Zerzinho Croes.
Trailing 3-0, HCAW narrowed the deficit in the third inning to 3-2.
Max Clarijs then walked and Arjan Elshof singled and both scored on an one-out triple by Jorin van Amstel.
But in the home of the third inning, Pioniers decided the game with a 6-run rally to take a 9-2 lead.
Vince Rooi led off with a double and scored on an one-out single by Djewi Appelman, then Kevin Dirksen followed with a 2-run homerun.
With two outs, Michael Pluijmers walked and Zerzinho Croes singled, which led to a pitching change.
Rookie Tony Kreisel took over for Sander Helmendach, but his second delivery to Phil Ortez ended in a 3-run homerun and a 9-2 score.
Pioniers added two more runs in the fourth inning on a basesloaded single by Skip Visser and a force play-grounder by Michael Pluijmers to make it 11-2.
But Visser was thrown out at the plate when he tried to score on a following single by Croes and two runners were left behind.
Pioniers failed to add another run to reach the 10-run difference and so, the game had to go the distance.
The second triple in the game by Jorin van Amstel and a 2-out homerun by Linoy Croes in the sixth inning gave HCAW two more runs, but that was to be all for the Bussum-team.
Pioniers scored two more runs in the seventh at bat on a wild pitch and a single by Dè Flanegin, which missed inches of becoming a 3-run, walk-off homerun.
