ARLINGTON, Texas (USA) -
Jurickson Profar has been recalled for the Major League-team of the Texas Rangers on Sunday after second baseman Ian Kinsler was put on the 15-day list disabled list with a right intercostal strain.
Profar was in uniform with the Rangers in the evening when the team played at home against the Detroit Tigers.
The short stop is labeled the no. 1 overall Major League-prospect.
Since the start of the season, Profar played for Round Rock Express, the Triple-A team of Texas.
He played in 37 games and batted .278 (40-for-144) with seven doubles, two triples and four homeruns.
Profar, who turned 20 in February, scored 27 runs and had 19 runs batted in.
Last season, Profar was recalled to the big league in September and played in nine games for the Rangers.
He made his debut on September 2 and then hit a homerun in his first big league at bat.
In his nine games, Profar went 3-for-17.
After the regular season, the short stop also played for the Rangers in the American League Wild Card Game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Earlier this year, Profar joined the Dutch National Baseball Team for the semi-final of the World Baseball Classic in San Francisco.
