 Bears advance to Korean Series to meet Lions

 SEOUL (South Korea) -
Doosan Bears won 5-1 vs. LG Twins on Sunday-afternoon (October 20) to advance to the Korean Series for the first time since 2008.
With the win, the Bears won the best-of-five Second Round of the Play-Offs 3-1.
The Bears now will meet Samsung Lions, the team of Dutch pitcher Rick van den Hurk.
The Series opens next Thursday at Daegu, the home city of the Lions.
In the regular season, the Bears finished in fourth place.
The team defeated third placed Nexen Heroes in the First Round of the Play-Offs and now also eliminated second placed LG Twins.
The Bears opened the score in the bottom of the second inning.
With runners on first and second base, a hard-hit drive towards first baseman Yong-eui Kim ended in an error, as the ball jumped away from him into foul territory.
Lead runner Won-seok Lee was able to score on this play.
The Twins left runners in scoring position in the fourth and sixth (bases loaded) inning.
The team then came alongside in the top of the seventh inning on a runscoring double by Yong-taik Park.
In the seventh, the Bears retook the lead.
Twins-starter Kyu-min Woo hit two batters with a pitch and was relieved by Sang-yeol Lee, who then threw a wild pitch, which moved the runners.
A sacrifice fly by Jong-wook Lee then made it 2-1.
The Bears then took more distance in the eighth inning by scoring three runs.
Jun-seok Choi hit a solo-homerun and Jae-il Oh followed with a triple and was able to score when rightfielder Yong-taik Park misplayed the ball.
Shortly thereafter, Jae-won Oh also tripled and scored the third run in the bat on a single by Byeog-heon Min.
Doosan-starter Hui-kwan Yu threw seven strong innings.
He struckout five batters and was named Most Valuable Player of the Series.
