The Hawks and Coach Anasagasti separate
Nederlands
DORDRECHT (Neth.) - Mampaey The Hawks and its Head Coach Dino Anasagasti have separated. The move came after the team had won its first home game of the season, a 5-3 victory vs. UVV on Sunday, August 3.

The Hawks is currently in last place with a 5-32 record and two ties. On July 24, The Hawks became the second team to be eliminated for a spot in the Play-Offs and therefore will be one of four teams in the Play-Downs following the completion of the regular season. The team that finishes in last place in that 9-game series meets the champion of the second highest league ('Overgangsklasse') in a best-of-five for one spot in next years big league.

On October 17 last year, it was announced that Anasagasti was named as new Head Coach of The Hawks. He succeeded Martin van Zeist, who had led the team in its first season at the highest level.

The results of this season eventually led to the separation between The Hawks and Anasagasti after Sunday's game. While it was known in advance that The Hawks again would have a difficult season in the big league, the squad from Dordrecht had several good outings, but was unable to turn those games its way.

Anasagasti is succeeded by Louie Maduro, who was his Assistant Coach this season. Maduro has never been a Head Coach in the big league and makes his debut in that position on Thursday-evening, August 7.
