ALMERE (Neth.) - The European Champions Cup is coming to Almere. On September 21, the Netherlands National Baseball Team captured the European Championship-title in Brno (Czech Republic). That same Championship-trophy is now coming to Almere for one day only. That day is Saturday, November 1.

From 10 Am through 12 at noon, the European Cup is at ISO Foto at Almere-Buiten. Everyone can then his or hers photo being taken with the Cup.

Sidney de Jong, former catcher of the Dutch Team and one of the coaches during the Championship in the Czech Republic, also will be on hand to pose for a photo and hand out signatures.

It has been seven years ago (2007) that the Netherlands captured the European Championship-title. In 2010 and 2012, the Dutch squad reached the final, but then lost to Italy. In the Czech Republic, the Orange squad remained unbeaten last month and recaptured the title and the Cup!

The initiative for this happening is from photographer Henk Seppen, who is specialized in baseball and handball. During the European Championship in the Czech Republic, he was the lone Dutch photographer to cover the event. Over the years, his photos were and are published in national newspapers as De Telegraaf, Algemeen Dagblad and NRC, but also local newspapers, including Amsterdam-based Het Parool. Besides that, Henk is a main contributor as photographer for this site, Grand Slam * Stats & News.

Besides being a photographer, Henk Seppen also is the owner of ISO Foto, the lone real photoshop only in the entire Almere-region. ,,When I was young, I enjoyed it very much when my photo was taken with the European Cup (soccer). That impressed me very much. I want to give children that same opportunity to pose with the real European Cup. I will make a photo, which they receive free of charge.''

Besides this unique photo-opportunity, there will be a batting cage at the Globeplein, near the photo-shop. The entire day, children can go in the batting cage to hit balls. Players and coaches of the baseball-team of Almere '90 will assist at the batting cage, as will Kenny Berkenbosch, who played in the Holland Series with L&D Amsterdam Pirates.

ISO Foto is located at Noordeinde 180 at Almere-Buiten near the train-station.
