Game Pioniers vs. Kinheim to be played in Haarlem
Nederlands
HAARLEM (Neth.) -
The important match-up between Vaessen Pioniers and Corendon Kinheim will be played on Tuesday-evening (June 2) in the Pim Mulier Stadium in Haarlem.
The game rained out on Sunday in Hoofddorp due to rain and the conditions of the playing field.
The game was re-scheduled for Tuesday-evening, but it wasn't immediately clear where it was to be played.
On Monday, maintenance work was scheduled to start on the infield of the home site of Pioniers in Hoofddorp.
Other considered sites were the fields of L&D Amsterdam Pirates in Amsterdam and of RCH-Pinguïns in Heemstede, but on both locations a make-up game is scheduled for Tuesday-evening.
And so, in the end, it was decided to play the game in the Pim Mulier Stadium, the home site of Kinheim.
On Monday, it was announced that righthander Tom Stuifbergen will start for Kinheim, while Pioniers probably will go with righthander Elton Koeiman, who also was listed to start on Sunday.
The game is crucial to decide which team will be the second to qualify for the Play-Offs.
In case of a Kinheim-win, the team has to wait for the result of the make-up game on June 9 between L&D Amsterdam Pirates and Curaçao Neptunus.
When Pirates wins that game, it will qualify, when Neptunus wins that game, Kinheim qualifies.
However, when Kinheim loses Tuesday's game, it means that Pirates will qualify for the Play-Offs.
