Starting pitchers Maickel Rietel (HCAW) and Jim Ploeger (UVV) held each other in balance in the first four innings.
Rietel gave up an one-out single to Omar Williams in the second inning, but he stranded.
In the third inning, Rietel was supported with a double play after giving up an one-out single to Dennis Ribbens.
In the fourth, the righthander walked lead-off hitter Joris van Ballegooy, but he was forced out.
Ploeger walked lead-off hitter Emersson Paula in the second at bat, but he was forced out.
In the third, the lefthander walked Jazon Allee with one out, but he was left behind.
Ploeger then struckout the side in the fourth inning.
In the fifth inning, UVV opened the score.
With two outs, Sam van Dijck and Dennis Ribbens singled, then the first scored when Norbert Jongerius connected for the third single in a row.
The run was scored moments before Ribbens was tagged out at third base trying to advance an extra base on the hit by Jongerius.
It was to be UVV's lone run in the game.
HCAW then left a runner in both the fifth and sixth inning and saw UVV getting close to take more distance in the seventh.
In this at bat, UVV got the bases loaded, but failed to add more runs.
With two outs, Brennan Nijhof and Sam van Dijck both singled and Dennis Ribbens walked.
With the bases loaded, Steven van Groningen took over for Rietel.
He closed the inning when Jongerius grounded out.
And then, HCAW suddenly struck with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs!
Max Clarijs and Rikkert Kempen then singled and rookie Jazon Allee followed with another single for his first big league RBI that tied the score.
After a double steal, Peter van Doesburg walked to load the bases.
HCAW then took a 2-1 lead when Kempen scored on a wild pitch by Ploeger.
A throwing error on a grounder by Boyd Tuhumury gave HCAW a 3-1 lead.
Steven van Groningen gave UVV no chance to get back into the game, as he retired the side in both the eighth and ninth to secure the victory for the Bussum-squad.
