Double Stars Heiloo vs. DSS
The game remained scoreless in the first two innings.
The two starting pitchers were supported with a double play in the first at bat, then retired the side in the second inning.
DSS then rallied for nine runs in the third inning on only three hits, as the Double Stars-defense committed four errors.
All runs in this at bat were unearned.
After Joffrey Heus led off with a walk, Lex Leijenaar (sac-bunt), Mitchel Dautzenberg and Mark Smit all reached on errors, which normally had ended the inning.
But now, there were no outs and DSS had scored two runs.
Sven Jongejans and Mitchel Koot followed with RBI-singles.
With one out, two more runs were added after a defensive error.
A sacrifice fly by Leijenaar and 2-run double by Dautzenberg then lifted the lead to 9-0.
Three more runs were added in the fourth inning.
With Jongejans (walk) and Koot (single) on base, Levine Gabriëls (ex-HCAW) delivered an RBI-single, which led to a pitching change.
Veteran pitcher Ton Roest took over.
Roest, who played in the big league for Amsterdam Pirates in the early nineties, was greeted with a 2-run single by Seb Visser, that made it 12-0.
DSS-starter Rik Geestman gave up a lead-off single to Dito de Jong in the first inning, but then was supported with a double play.
After retiring the side in the second, he walked a batter in the third inning, but never ran into problems.
The lefthander was relieved by Max Ploegstra in the fourth inning.
He gave up a 2-out single to Forstin Coenraad, another former big leaguer of the Double Stars-roster, as he had played for Kinheim and HCAW.
A walk for Gis Mercera followed, but then a grounder ended the game.

DSS vs. Alcmaria Victrix
In its second game, DSS was outhit 6-2 by Alcmaria Victrix, but nevertheless won 4-0.
DSS scored its first two runs in the first inning.
With one out, Lex Leijenaar walked and stole second, then scored when Mitchel Koot followed with a double.
The latter then advanced on a grounder and scored on a grounder by Ryan Miner.
In the next two innings, DSS reached base only once, but then two runs were added in the fourth at bat.
Lead-off hitter Ryan Miner was hit by a pitch and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Tino van Erk.
Miner advanced to third base when Seb Visser doubled and the latter was then replaced by pinch-runner Sven Jongejans.
A wild pitch then led to a run and a grounder by Joffrey Heus accounted for the next run to make it 4-0.
Alcmaria Victrix got two runners in scoring position in the second inning.
Former big leaguer (Pioniers) Mika de Lincel led off with a single, then Falco Hoffman also singled.
The two came into scoring position thanks to a sacrifce bunt by Joran Klarenbeek (another former big leaguer).
But then, Kevin Miner flied into a double play to end the inning.
Miner went the distance for Alcmaria and also has big league-experience, as he pitched for Amsterdam Pirates and Hoofddorp Pioniers some years ago.
Alcmaria left a runner in each of the next two innings, then reached base again in the sixth, but again was unable to score.
