HEEMSTEDE (Neth.) -

The team from Dordrecht played a 2-2 tie against Storks in its first game, then closed the day with a big 11-5 win vs. organisor RCH-Pinguïns.

The Hawks is the lone participant in this tournament that plays in the big league, the other three play in the second highest league ('Overgangsklasse').
The tournament is named after the Ringvaart (in full Ringvaart of the Haarlemmermeer Polder), which is a 61 km (38 miles) canal in the province of North Holland.
Ringvaart means 'ring canal'.
Construction of the canal began in 1839 when thousands of laborers dug a canal through the existing land.
The canal was completed in 1845.
The Ringvaart is used for commercial and recreational boat traffic.
The Ringvaart, the Cruquius Pump House (near Heemstede) and various other components, including the Stelling van Amsterdam, are considered a World Heritage site.
