Nederlands
PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida (USA) - Curaçao-born short stop Ozhaino Albies has made his Spring Training-debut in the Major League-team of the Atlanta Braves. Today (March 7), Albies was assigned to the Braves as an additional minor league-player for the split-squad game against the New York Mets. At the Spring Training-site of the Mets, the Braves lost 3-1.

Albies, who was born in Willemstad (Curaçao), turned 18 on January 7. He made his professional debut last season, playing in two Rookie League-teams of the Braves. Albies played in 19 games for the GCL Braves in the Gulf Coast League and 38 for the Danville Braves in the Appalachian League. In those 57 games, he batted .364 (72-for-198), scored 41 runs and batted in 19. Of his 72 basehits, seven were doubles, three triples and one homerun. In all the game he played, Albies was the short stop.

Today, Albies was added as an extra player to a game of the Braves. Later in the day, he made his debut in the big league-team when he entered the game against the Mets defensively in the bottom of the eighth inning. Albies then replaced José Peraza to become the new short stop. He didn't bat in this game.
