The Amsterdam-squad then rallied for five runs in the second inning.
Bas Nooij and Jesse Aussems began the at bat with singles, then Rashid Gerard connected for a 3-run homerun.
Hereafter, Linoy Croes walked and stole second base.
Roelie Henrique then also walked and moments later, Croes advanced to third base when a pick-off went errant.
After Henrique also got into scoring position by stealing second base, a sacrifice fly by Michael Duursma and double by Nick Urbanus brought in the two runners and lifted the lead to 6-0.
The Hawks scored what would be its lone run in the bottom of the second inning.
Amsterdam-starter Kevin Heijstek hit lead-off hitter Steven Wharwood, who then moved to third base on a single by Berend Ruben.
With two outs, Wharwood scored on a single by Julian Goins.
The bases got loaded when Chris Williams walked, but then a force out ended the inning.
Amsterdam was then held scoreless in the third and fourth inning, leaving a total of three runners.
The Amsterdam-squad then took more distance in the next at bats to reach the 10-run difference.
Three runs were added in the fifth inning.
Lead-off hitter Bas Nooij was hit by a pitch from Michel Offerman, who had taken over the pitching in the previous inning.
Nooij was awarded second base via a balk, then scored when, with one out, Rashid Gerard hit his second homerun in the game.
The next run was added when Linoy Croes doubled and scored on a 2-out double by Michael Duursma.
Two more runs were scored in the sixth.
Kenny Berkenbosch led off with a triple and scored on a following grounder by Remco Draijer.
Next, Bas Nooij singled and went on to score on a passed ball to make it 11-1.
Already having a 10-run difference, Amsterdam scored another run in the seventh when Roelie Henrique led off with a walk and later scored on an error.
After scoring its run in the second inning, The Hawks was held hitless by Kevin Heijstek in the next three at bats.
The righthander allowed only one batter to reach base.
One of the batters he faced was Lejeune Francisca, who entered the game in the fifth inning as a pinch-hitter.
Francisca was added recently to the roster of The Hawks, but is no stranger to the Dutch big league.
However, he last appeared in the highest Dutch division ten (!) years ago when he played for Kinheim.
After completion of the 2005 season, Francisca returned to Curaçao.
In the sixth inning, Daan Hendrix took over for Heijstek and completed the game, retiring six of the seven batters he faced.
