DSS Head Coach Lennart Stut changed his starting rotation prior to the game.
Righthander Tim Halderman, who initially was assigned for Sunday's Game 3, started tonight instead of lefthander Rik Geestman.
Now facing Halderman, Neptunus opened the score with one run in the first at bat.
Dwayne Kemp led off with a double, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Benjamin Dille, then scored on a sacrifice fly by Raily Legito.
In the second inning, Christian Diaz led off with a single down the rightfield-line.
First baseman Tino van Erk might have had a chance to field the ball, but fell down.
And so, Diaz reached base safely and while the ball continued into rightfield, he tried to advance to second base.
But he appeared to go not at full speed and was thrown out at second base by the rightfielder.
Hereafter, two grounders ended the at bat.
Neptunus added a run in the third inning.
With one out, Dwayne Kemp (who had reached on a fielder's choice) stole second base, moved on a grounder, then scored on a single by Raily Legito.
A walk for Gianison Boekhoudt followed, but Neptunus then left two runners behind.
The Rotterdam-squad took some more distance in the fourth by adding another run.
Christian Diaz led off with a double and advanced on a single by Stijn van der Meer.
Moments later, Van der Meer was caught stealing, then next batter Adrian Anthony singled just over first base, enabling Diaz to score.
A double by Urving Kemp followed, but again two runners stranded.
Neptunus inceased the lead to 5-0 by scoring twice in the fifth.
Raily Legito led off with a single and scored on a following double by Gianison Boekhoudt.
With two outs, Stijn van der Meer added a runscoring single to make it 5-0.
Neptunus-starter Orlando Yntema gave up only one basehit in the first four innings.
After DSS was retired in a row in the first at bat, Ryan Miner led off the second inning with a single, but stranded on second base.
In the third, the righthander walked two batters and another one in the fourth, but DSS was unable to score.
Trailing 5-0, the Haarlem-squad did score a run in the fifth inning.
After Neptunus had turned a double play, Joffrey Heus singled, then scored on a following double by Mitchel Dautzenberg.
DSS turned a double play in the top of the sixth inning, then added a run in the home half, but also left the bases loaded.
Kevin Kelly took over the pitching for Yntema.
He gave up a lead-off double to Mitchell Koot, who advanced on a grounder.
Kelly then hit Tino van Erk with a pitch and gave up a runscoring grounder to Seb Visser that narrowed the deficit to 5-2.
The bases then got loaded when Levine Gabriëls and Sven Jongejans walked, but three runners stranded when Kelly closed with a strikeout.
In the top of the seventh, Neptunus enlarged its lead with two more runs off of new pitcher Mark van Deursen.
With one out and Rien Vernooij (fielder's choice) and Christian Diaz (single) on the bases, Stijn van der Meer doubled with the ball just staying fair down the leftfield-line to make it a 7-2 score.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Mitchel Dautzenberg led off for DSS with a single, but then Lex Leijenaar lined into a double play to first baseman Rien Vernooij.
A single by Mitchell Koot followed, but he stranded.
In the eighth, Tino van Erk led off with a double off of new pitcher Gijs Timmer, but he also was left behind.
Timmer retired the side in the ninth to end the game.
