Amsterdam Pirates encountered no problems in the first five innings and was leading 5-0.
But then The Hawks suddenly made it a close game by scoring three runs to narrow the deficit to 5-3.
That was shortlived, as Amsterdam answered with a 6-run rally and went on to end the game in eight innings via de mercy-rule.
The Hawks is starting to play better as a team with each game.
The team is compiled of left-overs of last season (when the team relegated) and players who came to Dordrecht after ADO Lakers withdraw earlier this year.
This included players who had left The Hawks to play for ADO Lakers.
The withdrawal led to the return to the big league for The Hawks, which then had to built a new team in only a few weeks before the start of the season.
The team was bothered with some injuries in the first weeks of the season, while two players were in Curaçao due to family circumstances.
But now almost all players are with the team.
That resulted in two small losses a week ago against Curaçao Neptunus.
But Amsterdam Pirates was too much in this 3-game series, as The Hawks lost all three games via the mercy-rule with a 10-run difference.
Despite scoring 13 runs, Amsterdam collected only nine basehits, but seven more batters walked.
Initially, Amsterdam led only 2-0 after four innings off of starter Kevin van Veen.
In the second inning, Rashid Gerard led off with a double, then scored when Koen Nooij grounded into a double play.
The second run was added in the fourth when Remco Draijer singled with one out and later scored on an error.
The lead was then increased with three runs in the fifth at bat.
With one out, Roelie Henrique walked and scored on a 2-out single by Nick Urbanus.
Bas Nooij then reached on an error and Remco Draijer followed with a 2-run triple that made it 5-0.
With a 5-0 lead, Robin Schel took over the pitching for Amsterdam in the sixth inning.
The lefthander ran into problems immediately.
He gave up a lead-off single to Odion Gouverneur, then made a throwing error trying to eliminate him at second base on a bunt by Stephen Henson.
With runners on first and third base, a sacrifice fly by Berend Ruben accounted for the first run, then a triple by Steven Wharwood and grounder by Julian Goins narrowed the deficit to 5-3.
Next, Brian Raap doubled, but was then caught stealing at third base, ending the inning.
Amsterdam immediately took more distance via a 6-run rally with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning off of three pitchers.
First, the bases got loaded when Roelie Henrique, Michael Duursma and Jesse Aussems all walked with two outs.
That led to a pitching change, but new pither Mitchel Berghmans was greeted with a 3-run double by Bas Nooij that cleared the bases.
Remco Draijer was then hit by a pitch and Rashid Gerard followed with an RBI-double.
Hereafter, Tim Roodenburg became the new pitcher and he gave up a 2-run single to Patrick Bok that lifted the lead to a more comfortable 11-3.
The 10-run difference was reached in the bottom of the eighth inning.
First, a run was scored on an error, then the game ended when the 13th run was scored on a force play-grounder by Patrick Bok.
