More details of these games

Initially, HCAW scored early and held a 3-0 lead after four innings, but then UVV came alongside in the seventh inning and added two runs in the eighth to take 5-3 lead. In the home of the eighth, HCAW erased the deficit, rallied for three runs and went on to win 6-5.

HCAW opened the score in the first inning off of starter Timo van Ancum. Emersson Paula and Boyd Tuhumeru led off with singles, then an error on a grounder by Roy Seltenrijch gave HCAW an 1-0 lead.

HCAW added its next run in the third at bat. With one out, Paula singled again, then appeared to be eliminated while he tried to steal second base, but reached safely thanks to an error. Moments later, he scored when Tuhumeru followed with a double. The inning then ended when a flyout by Seltenrijch ended in a double play.

HCAW made it 3-0 in the fourth inning. Rossini Frolijk led off with a walk, then Jarreau Martina followed with a double. With one out, Frolijk scored on a grounder by Jim Froberg.

Maickel Rietel started for HCAW and was supported by a double play in the first inning. In the second at bat, he walked Brennan Nijhof with one out, then gave up a single to Rick Kuipers, but then finished with a strikeout. In the third, Norbert Jongerius singled for UVV with two outs, but stranded on first base.

Bob Klaarenbeek took over the pitching for HCAW in the fourth. He walked lead-off batter Sergino Martis, but he was eliminated when the HCAW-defense turned its second double play with one out. Klaarenbeek then retired the side in the fifth, as did Marco Schel in the sixth.

Still trailing 3-0, UVV came alongside in the seventh inning. Cecil Commenencia led off with a single, then an error followed on a force play-grounder by Sergino Martis, who last season played for HCAW. The bases got loaded when Omar Williams walked. HCAW then turned its third double play on a grounder by Mike Bazuin, but that enabled Commenencia to score. A walk for Brennan Nijhof followed and that led to a pitching change. Giovanni Tensen took over and saw the bases get loaded when Rick Kuipers reached on an error. Hereafter, Sam van Dijck singled to bring in the next run and as a throwing error followed, UVV scored another run to come alongside. A force out ended the inning, but the score was now tied at 3-3.

UVV then took a 5-3 lead by scoring twice in the eighth off of Tensen. With one out, Jongerius walked and stole second base, Commenencia reached on an error to put runners on first and third base. After the latter also had stolen second base, an error on grounder by Martis gave UVV a 4-3 lead. The next run was then scored on a passed ball.

However, UVV's lead was shortlived, as HCAW answered with three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Gilian Lith had taken over the pitching for UVV in the fifth. He then retired the side, saw HCAW leave two runners in the sixth, then got three outs in a row again in the seventh.

But in the eighth, the game went HCAW's way. Peter van Doesburg led off with a single and Roy Seltenrijch followed with another one. Both then scored on a following triple by Rossini Frolijk, who had come to HCAW from UVV following the 2013 season. The bases then got loaded when Jarreau Martina and Aldrich Guzman both walked. Moments later, Frolijk scored the go-ahead run for HCAW when he scored on an one-out sacrifice fly by Rowan van Hoek.

With a 6-5 lead in the top of the ninth, Steven van Groningen became HCAW's fifth pitcher in the game. He walked a batter with one out, but then a flyout and groundout followed to end the game, earning him a save.
