DSS threatened to open the score in the first inning off of starter Diegomar Markwell.
Lead-off hitter Mark Smit reached on an error, then advanced on a passed ball and a grounder by Sven Jongejans.
But he then stranded on third base as two more grounders followed.
Neptunus was retired in order in the first inning by Rik Geestman (like Markwell a lefthander), then left a runner in the second at bat.
Neptunus then opened the score with two runs in the third inning.
Urving Kemp led off with a single, stole second base and scored on a double by Adrian Anthony.
The latter then advanced on a grounder and scored the second run on a grounder by Gyenuar Lopez.
The home team added a run in the fourth.
Gianison Boekhoudt led off with a walk, then the bases got loaded when Dwayne Kemp and Rien Vernooij singled.
With one out, a run was scored on a sacrifice fly by Adrian Anthony, but then two runners stranded when a flyout ended the inning.
In the sixth, Neptunus made it a 4-0 score off of reliever Kevin Bosch.
Again, Boekhoudt led off with a walk.
This time, he advanced on a grounder and a passed ball, then scored on a sac-fly by Vernooij.
The basehit-production for DSS was limited to only four in the first six innings off of Diegomar Markwell, who saw five runners strand.
But the Haarlem-team then started to do something back in the seventh off of new pitcher Berry van Driel.
He was greeted with a lead-off double by Ryan Miner, who then advanced to third base on a passed ball with one out.
A grounder by Lex Leijenaar brought him across home plate, then Van Driel ended the inning with a strikeout.
Neptunus added two insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh inning off of new pitcher Max Ploegstra.
With two outs, Gyenuar Lopez singled and Benjamin Dille walked.
Next, Raily Legito delivered an RBI-single that made it 5-1.
With runners on first and third base, a steal-situation led to Dille being able to steal home to score the sixth run.
Van Driel gave up a lead-off single to Mark Smit in the eighth and walked Mitchell Koot with one out, but then was supported with a double play.
DSS then narrowed the deficit to 6-3 by scoring twice in the ninth off of Joran van Acker.
Tino van Erk led off with a single and stole second base, then moved on a grounder.
He then scored when pinch-hitter Koen Halderman singled.
With two outs, Halderman stole second base, then moved on a single by Tommy van der Sanden and scored when next batter Mark Smit also singled.
But that was to be all for DSS, as Van Acker closed the inning and the game with a strikeout.
