Neptunus scored its first run in the first inning off of starter Maickel Rietel.
Christian Diaz led off with a walk, but was forced out on a grounder by Dwayne Kemp.
The latter then stole second base and advanced on a throwing error by the catcher.
He then scored on a following single by Raily Legito, who was picked off first base moments later by Rietel.
Gianison Boekhoudt then doubled, but was left behind.
HCAW was retired in order in the first inning by Kenny Van Den Branden.
The Belgian righthander gave up an one-out single to Kevin Nieveld in his first at bat since coming back from the States where he completed his college-season.
But Nieveld stranded at first base, as Van Den Branden struckout the next two batters.
In the third inning, HCAW came alongside.
Max Clarijs led off with a walk, then Rikkert Kempen was hit by a pitch.
The two advanced on a sac-bunt by Raoell Kortstam, then Clarijs scored on a sac-fly by Roy Seltenrijch, but Kempen was left at third base.
In the bottom of the third inning, Neptunus re-took the lead.
With one out, Dwayne Kemp singled and stole second base.
With this, Kemp now leads the league with 14 stolen bases.
Moments later, he scored on a single by Raily Legito to give Neptunus a 2-1 lead.
Legito advanced on the throw to the plate, then Gianison Boekhoudt was walked intentionally to set up a force play.
But that wasn't necessary, as the inning ended with a strikeout.
Neptunus added another run in the fourth and it again involved one of the Kemp-brothers.
Urving Kemp led off with a single, moved on an one-out single by Mourik Huijser, then scored on a single by Christian Diaz, but Neptunus left runners at second and third base.
After giving up the run in the third inning, Kenny Van Den Branden retired nine batters in a row.
He then gave up an one-out single to Roy Seltenrijch in the sixth, but the Neptunian defense followed with a double play.
In the seventh inning, Neptunus made another double play to support Van Den Branden, whose start wasn't sure today.
His wife is about to give birth to their son any moment and so, it was questionable whether he was available to start.
And when he would start, it of course could have been possible that he had to leave the mound to be with his wife.
But the newborn simply postponed his arrival again and so, Van Den Branden threw eight strong innings.
Neptunus was retired in order by Rietel in the fifth and sixth inning.
After giving up a lead-off double to Christian Diaz in the seventh, he was relieved by Kaj Timmermans, who also made his first appearance of the season for HCAW since returning from the States.
He was later supported with an inning-ending double play.
In the eighth, Neptunus failed to add an insurance run after getting the bases loaded.
But the team held on to the small lead, as closer Loek van Mil retired the side in the ninth to earn his fifth save.
