Orlando Yntema was the starting pitcher for Neptunus on Opening Night.
For Yntema, this was his first Opening Day-assignment since 2012 when he pitched for UVV.
In the previous six seasons, lefthander Diegomar Markwell was the starting pitcher for Neptunus on Opening Day.
However, he has to sit out the remainder of a 4-game suspension he was handed during the Holland Series last season.
Markwell has two games remaining and he will be the starting pitcher for Neptunus coming Sunday.

Neptunus' Head Coach Evert-Jan 't Hoen also was inactive, as he has three games left of a 5-game suspension after being ejected twice during last years Holland Series.
Veteran coach Jan Collins acted as Head Coach tonight.
Collins is the Bench Coach and Pitching Coach in the staff of 't Hoen.
Neptunus opened the score with two runs in the first at bat.
Christian Diaz led off with a single in his first Neptunian at bat, then advanced on a grounder.
An error on a grounder by Raily Legito led to runners on first and third base.
Next, a failed pick-off attempt moved the runners and gave Neptunus an 1-0 lead.
A single by Gianison Boekhoudt brought Legito to third base and the veteran then scored on a sacrifice fly by Dwayne Kemp.
Hereafter, the Rotterdam-squad got the bases loaded when Rien Vernooij walked and Adrian Anthony singled, but a pop-fly ended the inning, meaning three runners were left behind.
Neptunus added a run in the second inning when Shaldimar Daantji walked and later scored on an error.
Trailing 3-0, HCAW got one run back in the third inning.
Peter van Doesburg led off with a single and with that HCAW became the eighth and last team to register its first basehit of the new season.
Van Doesburg reached second base safely when an error was made on a force play-grounder by Brian Biezen and he advanced to third base when Neptunus turned a double play.
But Roy Seltenrijch followed with a single to narrow the deficit to 3-1.
Neptunus scored two runs in the bottom of the third.
Gianison Boekhoudt (single) and Dwayne Kemp (dropped pop-fly) then both scored on a double by Rien Vernooij, who played in his first regular season-game since July 9, 2012.
In that year, he later played with Neptunus in the Play-Offs and Holland Series.
In the best-of-seven final, Neptunus was swept in four games by Kinheim.
Vernooij then retired shortly before the start of the 2013 season, but now makes his comeback.
Trailing 5-1, HCAW scored another run in the fourth at bat.
With one out, Raoell Kortstam was hit by a pitch, moved to third base on a single by Max Clarijs, then scored on a force play-grounder by Rikkert Kempen.
This was to be the last run for HCAW, which got only one more runner into scoring position in the remainder of the game.
Neptunus again scored twice in its fourth.
Christian Diaz led off with a single and scored on an one-out single by Raily Legito.
The latter went on to score on a 2-out single by Dwayne Kemp, which led to a pitching change.
Neptunus increased its lead with two more runs in the fifth.
Steven van Groningen, who had come on in relief in the previous at bat, began with two strikeouts, but then gave up a single to Shaldimar Daantji, followed by an RBI-triple by Christian Diaz and a runscoring single by Benjamin Dille.
Neptunus left the bases loaded in the sixth, then was retired in order in the seventh by new pitcher Gijs van Els.
The home team reached the 10-run difference in the bottom of the eighth off of Tony Kreisel.
With one out, Dwayne Kemp singled and Rien Vernooij was hit by a pitch.
A single by Adrian Anthony then led to a run, then Urving Kemp ended the game with a 2-run single.
