Ricardo Hernandez Sanchez made his second consecutive Opening Day-start for Pioniers.
Jeldwin Orman, the starter for The Hawks, was the lone rookie tonight to start on Opening Day.
Pioniers struck early with three runs in the first inning, hitting only one basehit.
With one out, the home team got the bases loaded when Danny Rombley walked, Dirk van 't Klooster singled and Vince Rooi also walked.
The first run was then scored when The Hawks-starter Jeldwin Orman hit next batter Mark-Jan Moorman with a pitch.
A force out on a grounder by Quintin De Cuba followed, but that enabled Van 't Klooster to score the next run.
An error on a grounder by Kevin Dirksen then accounted for the third run.

The home team added its fourth run in the second at bat.
With one out, Daniel Fernandes doubled and scored on a following single by Danny Rombley.
The inning ended with a double play, but Pioniers now led 4-0.
In the third through seventh inning, Pioniers added only one more run and stranded six runners in scoring position.
That happened twice to Quintin De Cuba, who played in his first game for Pioniers.
De Cuba doubled in the third and the seventh inning, but both times was left on second base.
In the fourth inning, The Hawks turned an inning-ending double play, but then gave up another run in the fifth.
Vince Rooi and Mark-Jan Moorman then began with singles.
The bases got loaded when an error was made on a force play-grounder by Quintin De Cuba.
This led to a pitching change.
Quinn Tramm took over for Jeldwin Orman and got a double play-grounder from Kevin Dirksen, but this also brought in a run.
Pioniers scored its last run in the eighth.
With two outs, Danny Rombley walked for the fourth time tonight.
Dirk van 't Klooster then singled, as did Vince Rooi to bring in a run.
A walk for Mark-Jan Moorman then loaded the bases, but three runners stranded.
The Hawks got into scoring position only one time in the first eight innings and that happened in the third.
Pionier-starter Ricardo Hernandez Sanchez had struckout five batters in the first two innings, including three after thrown a lead-off walk in the second at bat.
Hernandez struckout eight batters in the five innings he pitched.
In the third, Wijnand Ruben led off with a single, but was caught stealing while next batter Jules Peters struckout.
After the double play, Chris Williams singled, then became the lone runner in scoring position when Amir Daou walked, but a grounder ended the inning.
In the remainder of the game, The Hawks reached base only four more times.
In the ninth, off of new pitcher Bayron Cornelisse, Gino Hersilia and Julian Goins singled.
But Cornelisse then ended the inning and the game with a strikeout.
