Okay, what can you tell about an one-run game?
Well, that there was only one run scored in the game!
Starting pitchers Giovanni Tensen (HCAW) and Kevin van Veen (The Hawks) kept each other in balance, but it wasn't really a pitching duel.
Before The Hawks scored the lone run in the game, HCAW was the most productive team, reaching base frequently.
By the way, the home team left runners in eight of the nine innings!

In the second at bat, Raoell Kortstam became the first HCAW-player to get into scoring position.
He reached on an error and advanced on a grounder, but then stranded.
In the third inning, HCAW got two runners into scoring position.
With one out, Peter van Doesburg walked and he advanced to third base on a 2-out single by Roy Seltenrijch, who then stole second base.
However, The Hawks-starter Kevin van Veen ended the inning with a strikeout.
In the fourth, Kortstam led off with a single, but was caught stealing, then Jazon Allee singled, but stranded on second base.
In the fifth, Van Doesburg was left on second base.
The Hawks only got two runners into scoring position in the first five innings.
In the first at bat, Berend Ruben walked with two outs, but then was caught stealing.
The Hawks was then retired in order in the second.
In the next at bat, Julian Goins singled with one out, but was forced out on a grounder by Gino Hersilia, who got into scoring position when Stephen Henson walked.
But they also stranded.
In the fifth, Goins walked with two outs, stole second base and was left.
And so, we arrive in the sixth inning.
And as happens frequently, when the team with the most scoring opportunities fails to score, the opponent suddenly strikes.
That happened in the top of the sixth off of HCAW-starter Giovanni Tensen.
Stephen Henson led off with a bunt-single, then advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Chris Williams and a grounder by Berend Ruben.
He then scored when Steven Wharwood followed with a single.
In the final three innings, The Hawks added only one more basehit off of Tony Kreisel, who took over in the seventh.
In the eighth inning, Hersilia stranded at second base and in the ninth, pinch-runner Odion Gouverneur moved to second base, but then was caught stealing at third base.
Now trailing 1-0, HCAW was retired in order in the sixth.
Next, in the seventh inning, Peter van Doesburg singled with one out, but stranded on first base.
In the eighth, Raoell Kortstam reached base again when he walked with two outs, but then was forced out on second base.
In its final at bat, the suspension grew, as HCAW came close to tying the score off of Tim Roodenburg, who took over for Van Veen.
He hit lead-off hitter Max Clarijs with a pitch, then saw him advanced to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Jarreau Martina.
Next batter Boyd Tuhumury then flied out, but that was followed by a throwing error from rightfielder Julian Goins, enabling Clarijs to move to third base.
But there, he stranded, as next batter Peter van Doesburg, who had reached base in his previous three at bats, popped up the ball to foul territory where it was caught by first baseman Gregory Trinidad to end the game.
