UVV was able to come alongside twice, take the lead once, but then faced a deficit from the fifth inning and went on losing 6-4 to Corendon Kinheim after having won 4-1 two days earlier.
It was Kinheim that opened the score with one run in the first inning when Bryan Engelhardt homered with two outs.
Kinheim, which turned a double play in both the first and second inning, saw UVV come alongside in the third.
Thomas Smits led off with a double and Dennis Ribbens walked, then both moved on a sac-bunt by Joris van Ballegooy.
With two outs, Tony Enos reached on an error, which enabled Smits to score.
After Kinheim stranded runners on second and third base in the bottom of the third, UVV took a 2-1 lead in the fourth.
With one out, UVV loaded the bases via Norbert Jongerius (single), Mike Bazuin (single) and Thomas Smits (walk).
A run was then scored on a sacrifice fly by Dennis Ribbens, but two runners stranded.
Kinheim re-took the lead by scoring two runs in the fourth.
With one out, Dashenko Ricardo doubled and Sven van der Sanden was hit by a pitch.
The two then advanced on a wild pitch and both scored when rookie Dexter de Weert followed with a double.
UVV tied the score for the second time in the top of the fifth inning when Gilmer Lampe led off with a single, then stole second base.
Next, Dennis De Quint walked and at the same time Lampe stole third base.
Moments later, De Quint was caught stealing, but Lampe scored the tying run.
In the bottom of the fifth, Kinheim broke the 3-3 score and from that moment on, it held onto the lead.
Bryan Engelhardt led off with a walk and went on to score the fourth run for Kinheim on a sacrifice fly by Jeffrey Arends.
Kinheim then added two runs in the seventh.
With one out, Bryan Engelhardt doubled and scored on a 2-out single by Jeffrey Arends.
Dashenko Ricardo followed with a triple that made it 6-3, but was left himself on third base.
UVV appeared to get closer again in the ninth when it got the bases loaded with one out off of reliever Pim Walsma.
Dennis Ribbens led off with a walk, then pinch-hitter Sam van Dijck singled.
With one out, Tony Enos was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
This led to a pitching change, as Tom Stuifbergen was brought in.
He gave up a runscoring single to Dennis De Quint, which narrowed the deficit to 6-4, but then Omar Williams grounded into a double play to end the game.
