Pioniers opened the score with one run in the second inning off of Kevin Heijstek.
Vince Rooi led off with a double, moved on a grounder and scored on a single by Quintin De Cuba.
Hereafter, Heijstek ended the at bat with two strikeouts.
In the next five innings, the righthander gave up five basehits, but only one player would reach second base.
That was when Vince Rooi hit a ground-rule double with two outs in the sixth inning.
Pioniers then added two insurance runs in the eighth inning.
Daniel Fernandes and Danny Rombley both singled.
But Rombley's single was followed by an outfield-error that enabled Fernandes to score, while he himself ended up on second base.
Dirk van 't Klooster added a runscoring single to make it 3-0.
Amsterdam left ten runners behind in the first eight innings off of starter Lars Huijer.
The former pro walked seven batters, but gave up only four hits.
After leaving two runners in the second inning, Amsterdam got the bases loaded in the third at bat.
With two outs, Nick Urbanus tripled, then both Kenny Berkenbosch and Remco Draijer walked.
But the inning ended when Draijer was forced out on a grounder by Bas Nooij.
Two more runners stranded in the fifth inning, then (still trailing only 1-0), the home team again got the bases loaded in the seventh.
Patrick Bok and Linoy Croes led off with singles.
Next, Roelie Henrique, who ran for Bok, was forced out on third base on a grounder by Michael Duursma.
After the two runners moved on a passed ball, Nick Urbanus grounded out.
A force play was then set up by walking Kenny Berkenbosch intentionally.
Three runners stranded again when a grounder ended the inning.
Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the ninth, Amsterdam was able to do something back, but ended up short after all.
Roelie Henrique led off with a double, which led to a pitching change.
Closer Bayron Cornelisse took over for Huijer and began with a strikeout.
But then Michael Duursma switched placed with Henrique, as he also doubled to bring in a run.
Duursma moved on a grounder, then scored on a wild pitch to narrow the deficit to only 3-2.
Next, Kenny Berkenbosh walked, but he was left behind when a flyout ended the game.
