Taiwanese baseball-movie in Utrecht Nederlands

The Taiwanese baseball-movie Kano can be seen on Saturday, April 18 in the Louis Hartlooper Complex in Utrecht, starting at 12:00 PM.
The movie tells the real story of the Kano high school baseball-team of Kagi Nourin School from southern Taiwan, which suffers many losses.
The story is situated in 1931 when Taiwan was still under Japanese rule.
The team consists of players with several ethnical backgrounds, coming from China, Taiwan and Japan.
New coach Hyotaro Kondo wants to change things of the team which represent Taiwan in the 1931 Japanese High School Baseball Championship in Koshien Stadium and wants to guide the team to the championship.
Teamspirit and friendship are major storylines in this movie, which is directed by Umin Boya.
The success of the team making the finals was totally unexpected and it earned the Taiwanese baseball players great respect.
The Kano experience also encouraged more people in Taiwan to play baseball, eventually making it the national sport in Taiwan.
The role of Coach Hyotaro Kondo is played by Masatoshi Nagase.
Also in the film is wellknown Japanese actor Togo Igawa, who plays Coach Sato.
He appeared in movies such as Memories of a Geisha (2003), The Last Samurai (2005) and 47 Ronin (2013).
The film was nominated for several awards, winning five of them, including the Audience Choice Award of the Golden Horse Film Festival, as well as the Taipei Film Festival.
