Things went quickly in the top of the first inning when Kinheim rallied for five runs off of lefthander Diegomar Markwell.
He gave up five hits, while his defense committed two errors, resulting in three unearned runs.
In the inning, lead-off hitter Kevin Moesquit reached on an error, then Mervin Gario and Bryan Engelhardt both singled to bring in the first run.
A following single by Dudley Leonora accounted for the second run, while Engelhardt and Leonora both advanced on a throwing error from the outfield to get into scoring position.
Jeffrey Arends followed with a runscoring single, then the first out was recorded on a grounder by Dashenko Ricardo.
Next, Phil Ortez popped up into foul territory just besides the infield where the ball was caught by first baseman Rien Vernooij.
After the ball was caught, Leonora took off from third base to score the fourth run in the at bat and so Ortez got credited with a sacrifice fly.
Hereafter, rookie Victor Draijer added an RBI-single to make it 5-0, before Markwell finally ended the inning with a strikeout.
And with that rally, Kinheim decided the game early, as the Neptunian offense was held scoreless in the next four at bats by starter Tom Stuifbergen.
The righthander gave up six hits in the seven innings he pitched, allowing a run in the fifth.
In the first four innings, Neptunus reached base only once and of the 12 putouts only two outs were recorded in the outfield.
In the first six innings, the Rotterdam-squad got only one runner in scoring position, resulting in the run in the fifth at bat.
After retiring the side in the first inning, Stuifbergen gave up a lead-off single to Gianison Boekhoudt in the second inning.
Hereafter, a pop-fly and double play followed.
Starting with the pop-fly, Stuifbergen retired nine batters in a row.
In the fifth inning, Rien Vernooij doubled with one out to become the first Neptunus-runner to get into scoring position.
He moved on a grounder, then scored on a single by Benjamin Dille, who stranded himself.
After giving up the five runs in the first at bat, Markwell held Kinheim scoreless in the next four innings.
He retired the side in the second, but then saw the Haarlem-squad get into scoring position again in the third.
With one out, Jeffrey Arends singled, but was forced out on a grounder by Dashenko Ricardo.
Phil Ortez followed with a double, but the runners were left on second and third base.
In the fifth inning, Dudley Leonora singled with one out, but then was picked off first base by Markwell.
After Neptunus had scored in the bottom of the fifth, Kinheim got the run back in the top of the sixth.
Dashenko Ricardo led off with a triple, then scored on a following grounder by Phil Ortez.
Trailing 6-1, Neptunus was more productive in its final four at bats.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Kinheim-leftfielder Bryan Engelhardt robbed Dwayne Kemp of a homerun.
With two outs, Kemp drove the ball into leftfield, where Engelhardt leaped up and caught the ball above the fence.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Neptunus appeared to do something back.
With one out, it got the bases loaded when Gianison Boekhoudt, Rien Vernooij and Christian Diaz all singled.
Next, Benjamin Dille grounded to second baseman Kevin Moesquit, who tossed the ball to short stop Dudley Leonora.
With that, he forced out Diaz, who slid into second base.
However, the inning ended when Dille also was called out for runner's interference by Diaz during his breaking up of the double play at second base.
And so, no runs were scored and the inning ended.
In the eighth, Neptunus was retired in order by reliever Pim Walsma, but then scored three runs in the ninth off of closer Arshwin Asjes.
Dwayne Kemp led off with a walk, then reached second base safely when an error was made on a force play-grounder by Raily Legito.
The two then scored when Gianison Boekhoudt followed with a homerun into deep rightfield.
With one out, Christian Diaz and Benjamin Dille both singled.
Trailing 6-3 with only one out and two baserunners, Neptunus suddenly had a chance to narrow the deficit more or maybe even turn the game its way.
But the runners were left behind, as both Shurman Marlin and Shaldimar Daantji fouled out to end the game.
