The bases were loaded when Thomas Smits walked, then another run was added via a single by Dennis Ribbens. Hereafter, Reggie Bomberg took over the pitching with the bases still loaded, but walked pinch-hitter Omar Williams, which led to the next run. A force play-grounder by Tony Enos lifted the lead to 6-2, then UVV left three runners behind when a grounder ended the productive at bat.

UVV added another run in the seventh inning. With two outs and two runners on base, Dennis Buring became the new pitcher for Pioniers and was greeted with an RBI-single by Dennis Ribbens.
