AMSTERDAM (Neth.) -
L&D Amsterdam Pirates has added an additional game to its exhibition schedule.
Coming weekend, the team will play three instead of two games against Solingen Alligators from Germany.
Initially, both teams were to play one game on both Saturday and Sunday.
But now, on Sunday, the teams will play a double-header of two 7-inning games.
Saturday's game begins at 2 PM, Sunday's first game begins at 12 PM with game 2 tentatively scheduled to start at 2:30 PM.
All games will be played at Sportpark Ookmeer in Amsterdam.
Last year, Solingen Alligators captured the German championship-title.
The squad won the best-of-five final against Heidenheim Heideköpfe 3-1.
In Game 4 of the Series, a 2-run homerun by Robin Drache in the fifth inning made it 2-1 in favor of the Alligators, which held on to the minimal lead and won the title for the first time since 2006.
It was the second championship in the club's history.
For this season, Solingen can count again on pitcher Enorbel Marquez Ramirez.
The lefthanded pitcher, who turned 40 in December, was born in Cuba, but has the German nationality for several years now.
Marquez also pitched for the German National Team, including during last years European Championship in the Czech Republic.
The last five seasons, Marquez pitched for Telemarket Rimini in the Italian Baseball League.
Also pitching for Solingen are Andre Hughes and Chris Mezger.
Both have pitched in the Dutch Major League.
Mezger in 2013 for UVV and Hughes in 2009 for Mr. Cocker HCAW, where he was a teammate of current Amsterdam-pitcher Kyle Ward.
