UVV vs. Pioniers rains out, re-scheduled for Tuesday
Nederlands
VLEUTEN (Neth.) -
The third and final game of the series between UVV and Vaessen Pioniers rained out today (Sunday, June 21).
After some heavy rainshowers in the early hours on Sunday-morning, the playing field on the home site of UVV in Vleuten became unplayable.
And so, around noon, it was decided to cancel the game, especially as more rain was expected in the afternoon.
The game is re-scheduled for next Tuesday-evening, starting at 7:30 PM in Vleuten.
With today's cancellation, UVV now has to play two make-up games.
Besides today's rainout, UVV also has to replay part of an earlier game against Mampaey The Hawks.
On May 28, UVV filed a protest against a player of The Hawks using an illegal bat.
UVV won the protest and that means that the game has to be replayed from the top of the fourth inning on, with two outs.
That will happen on Tuesday, May 30, also in Vleuten.
