The two advanced on a passed ball and a grounder by Omar Williams produced the first run.
Mike Bazuin followed with an RBI-triple, then scored himself when Jordan Illis singled.
The latter was able to move to second base when an outfield-error followed, then advanced on a sac-bunt by Jamie Verheyleweghen and scored the fourth run when an error was made on a bunt by Norbert Jongerius.
In the bottom of the third inning, Pioniers narrowed the deficit to 4-3 by scoring three runs off of starter Jim Ploeger.
The lefthander gave up a lead-off single to Kevin Weijgertse, who then moved on a sac-bunt by Max Draijer.
The bases got loaded when Ploeger walked Daniel Fernandes and Danny Rombley.
A run was then scored when Dirk van 't Klooster grounded out and two more were added on a following single by Vince Rooi.
Hearefter, Ploeger retired nine of the next ten batters.
UVV added a run in the fourth when Mike Bazuin led off with a double and scored after a pitching change on a sacrifice fly by Norbert Jongerius.
UVV scored another run in the seventh off of Sedley Karel, the third pitcher for Pioniers this afternoon.
With two outs, Joris van Ballegooy walked, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Tony Enos.
Trailing 6-3, Pioniers got the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
