Both teams scored once in the first inning.
HCAW-starter Kaj Timmermans walked Tony Enos with one out, who then advanced on a single by Gilmer Lampe and scored on a following double by Dennis De Quint.
Lampe also tried to score, but he was eliminated at the plate on the throw from rightfield.
HCAW came alongside in the bottom of the first off of Ian Delemarre, but it could have been more.
Brian Biezen led off with a walk, stole second base, then scored when next batter Roy Seltenrijch reached on an error.
Moments later, Seltenrijch advanced on a wild pitch, but when he also tried to move to third, he was thrown out there.
Kevin Nieveld followed with a single, but then Emersson Paula grounded into a double play to end the inning.
UVV re-took the lead in the third inning, but also left two runners in scoring position.
Dennis Ribbens led off with a walk and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Joris van Ballegooy and a grounder by Tony Enos.
He scored on a following single by Gilmer Lampe, then Dennis De Quint also singled to put runners on first and third base.
De Quint also got into scoring position on fielder's indifference, but the two runners were left behind.
In the fourth inning, HCAW left a runner in scoring position.
In the fifth, UVV did the same after HCAW turned a double play.
UVV took some more distance by adding a run in the top of the seventh inning off of Tim Niekerk, but also left the bases loaded.
With two outs, the bases got loaded when Dennis Ribbens and Joris van Ballegooy walked and Tony Enos reached on an error.
The run was then scored when next batter Gilmer Lampe was hit by a pitch, but a strikeout ended the at bat.
In the bottom of the seventh, HCAW narrowed the score again to 3-2 when Rossini Frolijk homered with one out.
In the eighth, UVV added another insurance run.
With one out, Norbert Jongerius doubled, which led to a pitching change.
Gijs van Els took over, but he walked Jamie Verheyleweghen and was relieved by Steven van Groningen.
Verheyleweghen was then forced out on a grounder by Jordan Illis, which moved Jongerius to third base.
Hereafter, Illis stole second base and when a throwing error followed, Jongerius scored to make it 4-2.
HCAW stranded a runner on third base in the eighth inning off of new pitcher Jerremyh Angela.
The home team then got on base again in the bottom of the ninth inning off of Oscar Meuris, who hit lead-off hitter Kevin Nieveld with a pitch.
Next, Nieveld was caught stealing, which led to a argument from HCAW's Head Coach Ralph Milliard.
The former Major Leaguer stated that Nieveld wasn't tagged and was ejected by Umpire Coen van Lierop.
With two outs, Rossini Frolijk walked, but a flyout then ended the game, which earned Meuris his second save in two days.
