UVV scored its first two runs in the second inning off of Bob Klaarenbeek.
The lefthander gave up a lead-off single to Dennis De Quint, then walked Omar Williams.
An error on a grounder by Mike Bazuin then loaded the bases.
A grounder by Brennan Nijhof and bunt-single by Jamie Verheyleweghen then accounted for the two runs.
A 6-run rally with two outs in the third inning lifted the lead to 8-0.
After Gilmer Lampe walked, he stole second base, then scored on a single by Dennis De Quint.
Omar Williams followed with another single.
The two runners scored on a triple by Mike Bazuin, who then went on to score himself on a single by Brennan Nijhof.
A single by Jamie Verheyleweghen then put runners on first and third and brought in reliever Giovanni Tensen.
He was greeted with a 2-run single by Norbert Jongerius that made it 8-0.
HCAW got three two runs back in the bottom of the third inning.
With one out, Rikkert Kempen singled and Peter van Doesburg reached on an error.
A force play-grounder by Brian Biezen moved Kempen to third base and he was then awarded home plate when Bavera committed a balk.
That brought Biezen to second base and he then scored on a single by Roy Seltenrijch.
With UVV leading 8-2, a somewhat surprising move followed in the bottom of the fifth inning, as starting pitcher Claudio Bavera was replaced by Jurjen van Zijl.
With this, Bavera ended up one inning short of becoming the winning pitcher, while another starting pitcher (Van Zijl) was now used in relief with two games coming up in the weekend.
Van Zijl saw HCAW get the bases loaded in the sixth inning.
With one out and Jarreau Martina (fielder's choice) on first base, Rowan van Hoek singled, then pinch-hitter Jazon Allee walked with two outs, but they were all left behind.
UVV scored its next run in the seventh inning when Dennis De Quint homered with one out.
Two more runs were added in the eighth.
Jamie Verheyleweghen (single) and Joris van Ballegooy (error) then respectively scored on a single by Tony Enos and sac-fly by Gilmer Lampe.
