DSS opened the score with one run in the first inning off of starting pitcher Maickel Rietel.
Mark Smit led off with a single, moved on a sacrifice bunt by Lex Leijenaar and a wild pitch, then scored on a single by Ryan Miner.
DSS was held scoreless in the next two at bats, then got a chance of adding more runs in the fourth.
With one out, Miner doubled, then Tino van Erk walked, but was forced out.
With Miner of third base, another force out ended the inning.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, HCAW got one run back when Jarreau Martina led off with a double, moved on a grounder, then scored on a wild pitch.
A walk for Emersson Paula followed and after he had stolen second base, he moved to third on 2-out single by Raoell Kortstam, but the two runners were left behind.
DSS re-took the lead in the fifth inning.
With two outs, Mark Smit walked, stole second base and scored on a single by Lex Leijenaar.
The latter then also stole second base and scored the next run on a single by Mitchell Koot.
In the bottom of the fifth, HCAW narrowed the deficit again to 3-2.
With one out, Rowan van Hoek and Max Clarijs reached on an error, which led to a pitching change.
Mike Groen took over and gave up a sacrifice fly to Jarreau Martina, but that also ended in an inning-ending double play, as Clarijs was also eliminated trying to advance to second base on the throw to home plate.
DSS immediately added another run in the sixth inning.
Tino van Erk led off with a single, then Levine Gabriëls was hit by a pitch.
The two advanced on a sac-bunt by Seb Visser, then Van Erk scored on a pinch-hit grounder by Sven Jongejans.
The Haarlem-squad added an insurance run in the seventh inning.
With two outs, Mitchell Koot doubled.
Hereafter, Bob Klaarenbeek took over, but the lefthander was greeted with an RBI-single by Ryan Miner that lifted the lead to 5-2.
HCAW then appeared to do something back in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Facing new pitcher Max Ploegstra, the home team got the bases loaded with two outs.
Max Clarijs walked with one out, as did Brian Biezen and Emersson Paula with two outs.
Closer Kevin Geestman was then brought in and he ended the inning with a grounder and so, three runners stranded.
In the bottom of the ninth, HCAW was able to score one more run.
Raoell Kortstam led off with a walk and went on to score on a sac-fly by Aldrich Guzman, but that was it for HCAW today.
