The Hawks opened the score with two runs in the first inning off of starter Glenn Wassink.
Earlier in the day, it was announced that Wassink started tonight instead of righthander Tom Stuifbergen, who was initially named as starter in the opener.
However, Stuifbergen is recovering from an injury and wasn't recovered for the full 100 percent yet.
Out of precaution, Stuifbergen was removed from his start and Wassink was named instead.
The Hawks was led for the first time tonight by Paul Roodenburg, who took over as Head Coach for Eugene Henson somewhat over a week ago.
In the opening at bat, Jules Peters led off with a single for The Hawks, then Wijnand Ruben walked and Steven Wharwood followed with a runscoring double.
With one out, Berend Ruben followed with an RBI-single that made it 2-0.
The Hawks got another runner when Brian Raap walked, but then a flyout and strikeout ended the inning.
The runs were to be the only ones scored this game by The Hawks.
Kinheim answered with three runs with two outs in its first at bat off of starter Quinn Tramm.
With one out, Mervin Gario and Bryan Engelhardt singled to put runners on first and third base.
A run was then scored on a grounder by Phil Ortez and a triple by Dashenko Ricardo tied the score.
Kinheim took a 3-2 lead when Ricardo scored on a following single by Jeffrey Arends.
The next three innings remained scoreless.
The Hawks was the most productive of the two teams in these at bats.
In the second inning, the team got the bases loaded with one out, but the inning then ended with a double play.
The team from Dordrecht got a chance to come alongside in the fourth.
With one out, Amir Daou singled, then reached second base safely when an error was made during his steal-attempt.
With two outs, Wijnand Ruben reached on an error that brought Daou to third base.
However, Daou overran third base and was eliminated in a rundown to end the inning.
Kinheim reached base only once in the second through fourth inning.
In the second, Jochem Koedijk singled with one out, but Quinn Tramm then retired the next eight batters in a row.
In the top of the fifth, The Hawks got the bases loaded with two outs.
Berend Ruben then doubled and Brian Raap walked.
Hereafter, Scott Ronnenbergh took over the pitching for Glenn Wassink.
The two runners were awarded the next base when a balk was called, then Ronnenbergh loaded the bases when he walked Gregory Trinidad.
But The Hawks again failed to score, as a strikeout ended the inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, Kinheim took more distance by scoring four runs.
Jochem Koedijk led off with a single and Kevin Moesquit walked, then the two moved on a sacrifice bunt by Mervin Gario.
With first base open, Bryan Engelhardt was walked intentionally to set up a force play.
Hereafter, pinch-hitter Niels van Weert hit a sacrifice fly to bring in a run and Dashenko Ricardo added a 2-run double.
Jeffrey Arends then walked and Dudley Leonora followed with a runscoring double to make it at 7-2 score.
Two more runs were scored in the sixth inning off of new pitcher Kevin van Veen.
With two outs, Mervin Gario singled, then Bryan Engelhardt hit his seventh homerun of the season.
The Hawks was retired in order in the sixth by Ronnenbergh, who then got one baserunner in the seventh.
Leading 9-2, Kinheim changed almost its entire team in the top of the eighth inning.
Five new players entered the game after a defensive change already had been made in the previous inning, while Van Weert had stayed in the game and had become the new designated hitter after his pinch-hit appearance in the fifth.
The only two players from the original line-up to stay in the game were first baseman Jeffrey Arends and Kevin Moesquit, who in this inning switched from second base to short.
There also was a new pitcher for Kinheim in this inning, as Pim Walsma took the mound and retired the side.
In the ninth, closer Arshwin Asjes took over and saw two batters reach with two outs, but a flyout then ended the game.
