HCAW opened the score with two runs in the first inning off of starter Tim Halderman.
With one out, Brian Biezen and Emersson Paula singled, then the two executed a double-steal.
With two outs, a grounder by Raoell Kortstam ended in an error, enabling both runners to score.
DSS came alongside by scoring a run in its first and second at bat off of starter Giovanni Tensen.
In the first inning, Mark Smit led off with a walk, moved on a sacrifice bunt by Lex Leijenaar and a grounder by Mitchell Koot, then scored when Ryan Miner reached on an error.
In the second inning, DSS scored its second run.
Levine Gabriëls led off with a double, moved on a grounder by Tommy van de Sanden and went on to score on a grounder by Joffrey Heus.
In the top of the fourth inning, HCAW got the bases loaded, but failed to score.
Raoell Kortstam and Gianni Frolijk began with singles, then moved on a sac-bunt by Rikkert Kempen.
An infield-hit by Jazon Allee then loaded the bases, but a foul-out and flyout then ended the inning.
HCAW stranded two more runners in the fifth inning, but then re-took the lead by scoring twice in the sixth.
With two outs, Max Clarijs walked and scored on a double by Jarreau Martina.
That led to a pitching change.
New pitcher Kevin Bosch walked Brian Biezen.
A pick-off on second base then resulted in a throwing error, as well as an outfield-error and so, Martina was able to score the next run and make it 4-2.
DSS answered with two runs in its sixth at bat to come alongside for the second time.
Ryan Miner led off with a double, then scored with two outs when Tommy van de Sanden reached on an error.
Moments later, Van de Sanden scored the tying run on a single by Joffrey Heus, but the home also left two runners behind.
In the seventh inning, HCAW rallied for four runs to take an 8-4 lead and this time, it held onto the lead.
Rossini Frolijk led off with a double and moved on a passed ball, then Raoell Kortstam walked.
A wild pitch moved the runners, resulting in the go-ahead run.
After Gianni Frolijk singled, Rikkert Kempen delivered a runscoring single and that brought in new pitcher Mark van Deursen.
The two runners then advanced on a wild pitch and the bases got loaded when Peter van Doesburg walked.
After a strikeout accounted for the first out, Jarreau Martina doubled to bring in two more runs and lift the lead to 8-4.
This time, DSS was unable to come back.
The team got two runners in its last three at bats, with only one of them reaching second base.
