Storks faced Juan Carlos Sulbaran, who last season was one of the pitchers on its own roster.
The righthander had a fine outing, striking out nine batters and giving up only three basehits in the six innings he pitched.
Sulbaran also walked six batters, but gave up only one run to his former team.

DSS got a chance to open the score immediately in the top of the first inning off of starter Martin Kram.
With one out, the righthander gave up a single to Tino van Erk, then a 2-out single to Koen Halderman, but a force play ended the at bat.
The Haarlem-team then scored its first run in the second inning.
With one out, Brian Raap singled, but he was forced out on a grounder by Runai Coran, who last season also played for Storks.
Coran moved when next batter Koen Werkman walked, then scored on a single by Mitchel Dautzenberg.
DSS added two runs in the top of the third.
With one out, Koen Halderman doubled, then advanced when an error was made on a force play-grounder by Devano Pieter.
Leandro Anasagasti followed with a runscoring double, then the next run was scored on a sacrifice fly by Diamond Silberie.
In the remainder of the game, DSS was held scoreless, despite getting five runners in scoring position.
In the fourth, Mitchel Dautzenberg doubled with one out and moved to third base on a wild pitch with two outs, but stranded.
After being retired in order in the fifth, DSS got a runner in scoring position in each of the next four innings.
In the sixth, Runai Coran walked with one out.
Hereafter, Darryl Jamoena took over the Storks-pitching.
He saw Coran advance on a grounder, but he also was left behind.
In the seventh, it was Aldi Guzman (another former Storks-player) who hit a double.
He reached third base on a wild pitch, but then stranded.
In the eighth, it was Leandro Anasagasti (walk-sacrifice bunt) who was left behind on second base.
And in the ninth, Tino van Erk walked and Aldi Guzman singled with one out.
This time, a double play followed.
Like DSS, Storks also left two runners behind in the first inning.
Kevin Nieveld, who last season was a player of DSS, led of with a single, then moved on a sacrifice bunt by Johnny Schmook.
Juan Carlos Sulbaran then walked Giovanny Perez and got runners on second and third base on a wild pitch.
But a strikeout and foul-out then ended the at bat.
Storks also stranded two runners in the second inning.
With one out, Joey Schmook and Jurriaan Dijk both walked.
This time, Sulbaran closed with two strikeouts.
Trailing 3-0, Storks got another runner in scoring position in the bottom of the third inning.
Giovanny Perez (fielder's choice) then moved on a passed ball and reached third base on a grounder, but stranded there.
Sulbaran, who struckout three batters (and gave up one basehit) in the fourth inning, gave up the lone Storks-run in the fifth inning.
Kevin Nieveld led off with a walk and scored on an one-out double to Giovanny Perez.
After Sulbaran had retired the side again in the sixth (two strikeouts), Scott Prins pitched the final three innings for DSS.
He retired the side in the seventh, then hit lead-off hitter Luuk Visser with a pitch in the eighth.
But hereafter, Prins struckout the next three batters.
In the bottom of the ninth, Prins retired the side again to secure the win and earn a save.
