Al Morales Gomes made his first start of the season for DSS/Kinheim after having made four relief-appearances this season.
For the 42-year old righthander, this was his first big league-start since 2009 when he started in one game pitching for Hoofddorp Pioniers.
The Mexican-born Morales has mostly been used a reliever, while pitching in the big league for RCH (2008), Hoofddorp Pioniers (2009) and Amsterdam Pirates (2010-2011).
Today, he walked Quick's lead-off hitter Roger Bernadina, but then struckout Joran Berkhout and Rachid Engelhardt.
While striking out Engelhardt, Bernadina stole second base.
He then scored when Bryan Engelhardt singled.
Hereafter, Morales got the bases loaded when he walked Tijmen Takke and gave up a single to Taylor Clemensia.
But the inning then ended when the latter was forced out on a grounder by Emeron Lourens.
Morales gave up two more runs in the third inning.
With one out, Bryan Engelhardt doubled and with two outs, he scored when Taylor Clemensia homered down the leftfield-line.
DSS/Kinheim came alongside in the bottom of the third inning off of starter Jan-Willem Geerts.
The team already got into scoring position in the first two innings, but then was unable to score.
In the first inning, Jochem Koedijk walked and Jeldwin Orman reached on an error, but a pop-fly and force out followed.
In the second at bat, Wesley van Hemert (fielder's choice) stole second base with one out, but stranded there.
With one out in the bottom of the third, Geerts got the bases loaded when he gave up a single to Jochem Koedijk, hit Jeldwin Orman with a pitch and saw Marcel Tolenaars also reach on a basehit.
After an infield-hit accounted for the second out, Donny Kuijper hit a baseclearing, 3-run double that tied the score.
The next two innings remained scoreless.
Quick got into scoring position in both at bats off of new pitcher Kevin Nieveld.
In the fourth, Jordy Burger led off with a walk, but later stranded on third base.
In the fifth, Tijmen Takke led off with a single, but he was left behind on second base.
Jan-Willem Geerts retired the side in both the fourth and fifth inning.
In the sixth inning, Quick rallied for 10 runs off of three pitchers.
Fifteen batters stepped up to the plate, who produced eight basehits, including two homeruns.
The first six batters reached base off of Kevin Nieveld, who is the third baseman of DSS/Kinheim and made his first pitching-appearance of the season.
In previous seasons, he also was used several times as a reliever.
In the sixth, Nieveld walked Roger Bernadina, then gave up a double to Joran Berkhout.
Hereafter, Rachid Engelhardt hit a runscoring single and when that was followed by an outfield-error, Berkhout also scored.
A defensive change followed, as Aidan Finnegan replaced short stop Tijmen Nagel and went on to play at second base, while second baseman Thomas Bos moved to short.
Moments later, Ademar Rifaela homered.
He had entered the game in the fourth as pinch-hitter for Bryan Engelhardt, who left the game with an injury.
After giving up Rifaela's homerun, Nieveld walked Tijmen Takke, then gave up another homerun.
This time hit by Taylor Clemensia, his second in the game.
After Clemensia's homerun, a pitching change followed, as Moreno Vork took over, but he also got several baserunners.
Vork was greeted with a single by Emeron Lourens.
With one out, he got the bases loaded when Jordy Burger also singled and Roger Bernadina received his third walk in the game.
Hereafter, Joran Berkhout connected for a 2-run single.
A sacrifice fly by Rachid Engelhardt and a double by Ademar Rifaela brought in the ninth and tenth run in this inning and increased Quick's lead to 13-3.
When Vork walked next batter Tijmen Takke (which also was his third), another pitching change followed.

With runners on first and second base, it was veteran righthander David Bergman who took the mound for DSS/Kinheim.
The 39-year old Bergman, who also is the Pitching Coach of the team, last pitched in the highest league in 2016, the season in which Kinheim relegated.
Back then, Bergman pitched in 16 games (14 starts) and was 6-6 in what was his 18th season in the Dutch big league.
Bergman closed the sixth inning when he got an inning-ending flyout.
In the seventh inning, he gave up singles to Denzel Brooks (with one out) and Roger Bernadina (with two outs), but they were left behind.
Trailing 13-3, DSS/Kinheim was three outs away from a mercy-rule loss.
The team avoided a 10-run difference loss, as the it scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh.
In this at bat, three rookies registered their first big league-basehit.
Aidan Finnegan led off with a walk, who moved on a grounder by Bram Blokker and a single by Matis Crouwel, which was his first in the big league.
Crouwel, who had replaced short stop Thomas Bos in the top of the seventh, advanced to second base when a throwing error followed his infield-hit.
Moments later, Finnegan and Crouwel both scored on a double by Jochem Koedijk.
A pitching change followed, as lefthander Colin van Laar took over from Jan-Willem Geerts.
He gave up a single to Jeldwin Orman, then a runscoring single to Shaquille Zijlstra, another rookie in the DSS/Kinheim-team.
Zijlstra also had entered the game in the top of the seventh as new first baseman.
For Zijlstra, this also was hit first big league-basehit.
Hereafter, it was Sem Kuijper who hit his first basehit in the highest league and also batted in a run, which made it a 13-7 score.
Kuijper was inserted in the sixth inning, then became the new catcher for the team thereafter.
Kuijper's stay at first base was short, as he was eliminated there with a pick-off from his catching colleague Rachid Engelhardt.
The inning ended with a strikeout.
David Bergman retired the side in the eighth inning, but then gave up Quick's 14th run in the ninth.
That was done by Taylor Clemensia, who led off with his third homerun in the game.
With that, he equaled a rare big league-record.
DSS/Kinheim got its final baserunner in scoring position in the bottom of the ninth.
With one out, Jeldwin Orman doubled and reached base for the the fourth time.
With two outs, Sem Kuijper walked.
But a flyout then ended the game.
