The game remained scoreless for six innings, as both starting pitchers didn't gave way much and were very equally balanced to each other.
Both teams reached base in the first inning.
Parma-starter Luis Lugo Lareschi struckout four batters in the top of the first inning.
With one out, he struckout Federico Celli, but he reached on a wild pitch.
The Venezuelan lefthander then also struckout the next two batters.
Lugo pitched professionally in several Minor League-seasons for Cleveland Indians (2011-2016).
He also pitched in the Minors for Kansas City Royals (2018) and Chicago Cubs (2019).
In 2016, Lugo pitched for the Italian National Team during the European Championship.
In the bottom of the first inning, San Marino-starter Dimitrios Kourtis walked lead-off hitter Aldo Koutsoyanopulos Vitti.
With a full-count, a high pitch from Kourtis was ruled ball-four by Home Plate Umpire Yuri Macchiavelli.
Kourtis and catcher Gabriel Liny Correa reacted, as did San Marino's Pitching Coach Paolo Ceccaroli, who ran out immediately to voice his criticism.
Ceccaroli is a longtime former National Team-pitcher and his conversation with Macchiavelli didn't last that long, as he probably said someting too much and was ejected.
Moments later, Koutsoyanopulos was forced out on a grounder by Stefano Desimoni, who stranded on first base.
Both teams got into scoring position for the first time in the second inning.
With one out in the top of the second, Nathanael Batista De Jesus doubled for San Marino.
Hererafter, Lugo again struckout the following two hitters.

Parma got its lead-off hitter on base again in its second at bat when Alex Sambucci walked.
With one out, Leomartires Rodríguez Reyes also walked.
This time, Kourtis also followed with two strikeouts.
With two outs in the bottom of the third inning, Noel Gonzalez Sanamé singled for Parma, but that would be the lone basehit for the home-team.
In the following at bats, there were some baserunners, but only one of them got into scoring position.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Riccardo Flisi led off for Parma and hit a grounder towards the left side of the infield.
There, short stop Erick Epifano Duran fielded the ball, but made a high throw to first baseman Jesus Ustariz Luis.
Flisi moved to the outside of the running lane to avoid the tag by Ustariz and was ruled safe by 1B Umpire Fabrizio Fabrizi.
Immediately, both the first and second baseman stated that Flisi was tagged.
And so, a challenge followed and the Home Plate and 1B Umpire reviewed the play together with Replay Umpire Alessandro Spera.
The call was overturned and Flisi was called out.
In the top of the sixth, Canadian Marc-André Habeck took over the pitching for San Marino-starter Luis Lugo Lareschi, who had struckout ten batters.
With one out, the righthander gave up a single to Federico Celli.
He was forced out on a grounder by Oscar Angulo Gamez, who later advanced on a wild pitch, but stranded on second base.
Habeck has both a Canadian and French passport.
In 2016 and 2017, he pitched for Rouen Huskies in the highest French league.
He also participated with France in the World University Games in South Korea in 2015.
Habeck pitched for the French National Team during the European Championship in 2016, 2019 and 2021.
Since 2018, the righthander plays in Italy.
First for Padova and since 2019 for Parma.
And so, the seventh inning began with a scoreless tie.
In the top of the seventh, Habeck walked lead-off hitter Jesus Ustariz Luis, who was moved into scoring position via a sacrifice bunt by Nathanael Batista De Jesus.
The Venezuelan then reached third base on a following grounder by Dutch player Dudley Leonora, who played in the Dutch big league for Kinheim, Hoofddorp Pioniers and Neptunus.
Moments later, Ustariz scored when next batter Ortwin Pieternella Vargas delivered a single.
Although he was born in Venezuela, Pieternella also has a Dutch background.
This Summer, Pieternella played for the National Team of Curaçao in the Baseball Week Haarlem in the Netherlands.
In 2018 and 2019, he played professionally in the Rookie League for Seattle Mariners.
With San Marino now leading 1-0, Fernando Baez took over the San Marino-pitching.
The Dominican retired the side to secure the minimal lead.
