It marks the fourth consecutive day that DSS/Kinheim announces a new player.
On Sunday, the club announced that young infielder Amarensio Franka, who comes from Neptunus Tridents, was added to the roster.
On Monday, DSS/Kinheim announced that righthanded pitcher and former pro Donny Breek, who played for L&D Amsterdam Pirates, also comes to the Haarlem-team.
And on Tuesday, it was announced that outfielder Urving Kemp has transfered from Twins Oosterhout to DSS/Kinheim.
On October 27, DSS/Kinheim announced that Etienne Meijer was named the new Head Coach of the team.
He succeeds Michael Crouwel, who retired after the season had ended.
The transfer-period ends on November 15.
Jesse van den Berg, who is a third baseman/short stop, will make his debut in the Dutch big league coming season.
He comes to DSS/Kinheim from 'neighbour' Sparks Haarlem for whom he played in the past few seasons in the First Division.
This season, Van den Berg played with Sparks Haarlem in the Major League/First Division Pilot-Pool, which was introduced and tried out this year.
This Pool followed after completion of the regular season.
In this series of 15 games, Van den Berg was productive player for Sparks Haarlem.
He frequently reached base for the Haarlem-team.
Not only via basehits, but also via walks and batted in several runs.
In one of the games against Silicon Storks, Van den Berg hit a 3-run homerun.
Sparks Haarlem won four of its fifteen games, while one ended in a tie.
The team finished in sixth place in this new Pool.
In the announcement made by DSS/Kinheim, Rick Hetem, Van den Berg's Head Coach at Sparks Haarlem, describes the infielder as
'a boy who has baseball in his heart' and 'a diamond in the rough with a very good arm, who can get far with the right coaching'.
Regarding his transfer to DSS/Kinheim, Van den Berg himself said:
,,I am really looking forward to making the step to the Dutch big league this year.
I have also played in Haarlem for the past 4 years, so I am happy to continue to play in the neighborhood.
I am looking forward to the preparation and to making it a good season with the team!''
