DSS/Kinheim closes exhibition-season with fifth win

DSS/Kinheim closed its exhibition-season at home on Sunday (April 2) with a 6-3 win against Quick Amersfoort.
The first meeting between the two clubs on Saturday in Amersfoort rained out.
For Quick, this was only its second exhibition-game.
With the win, DSS/Kinheim recorded its fifth win to become one of the two teams that remained unbeaten in the exhibition-season.
UVV, which won twice today at the Frank Maduro Tournament in Hoofddorp, also finished with a 5-0 record.
Quick Amersfoort inserted seven pitchers today, DSS/Kinheim used six.
DSS/Kinheim opened the score in the second inning off of starter Jack Wagner when Mees Robberse (single) scored on a single by Matis Crouwel.
However, Quick came alongside in the third inning off of Donny Breek, who started for DSS/Kinheim and threw three innings.
The home-team immediately re-took the lead in the bottom of the third off of new pitcher Brian van Laar.
Julian Toppen then doubled and three walks then led to the run.
DSS/Kinheim added two more runs in the fifth off Riley Gonesh.
Urving Kemp, Mees Robberse and Matis Crouwel then all walked.
Infield-hits by Amarensio Franka and Nick Hofer then accounted for the runs.
The Haarlem-team again scored twice in the seventh off of Joel Martis.
This time, Marcel Tolenaars singled, advanced on an error, then scored on a grounder by Amarensio Franka.
Two walks then loaded the bases and when Sem Kuijper was hit by a pitch, the lead increased to 6-1.
Donny Breek was followed on the mound in the fourth inning by Martijn Schoenderwoerd, who threw two innings.
Thereafter, Rick Rizvić, Finn Blokker, Jemail Streedel and Robyn Clara all threw one inning.
Trailing 6-1, Quick scored twice offf of Streedel in the eighth inning.
On Thursday-evening (April 6), DSS/Kinheim opens the new season away at Curaçao Neptunus.
Quick Amersfoort also begins on the road and opens at Hoofddorp Pioniers.
