On Friday-evening, the first five innings remained scoreless, today, there were no runs in the first four at bats.
HCAW then scored three runs in the fifth and that was all the scoring in today's game.
Amsterdam Pirates-starter Nelmerson Angela encountered no problems in the first four innings, facing a minimum of twelve batters.
The lefthander retired the first six batters he faced, including one strikeout.
In the third, Angela gave up a lead-off single to Max Draijer, but then was supported with a double play.
A foul pop-up ended the at bat.
Angela then retired the side again in the fourth, adding a strikeout.
But in the top of the fifth, HCAW struck with a 3-run rally.
Former Pirate Delano Selassa led off with a single and stole second base, then Quintin de Cuba was hit by a pitch.
The two advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Kevin Dirksen, then both scored when Max Draijer followed with a single.
Hereafter, Draijer scored the third run on a single by Bob van der Meer.
Another single followed, hit by Julian Goins.
HCAW got runners on second and third base via a wild pitch, then got the bases loaded when Brendly Martina walked.
With one out and three runners on base, Yassir Lachkar took over the Pirates-pitching.
The inning ended when Victor Draijer grounded into a double play.
But HCAW had scored enough runs for today's win.
For HCAW, the fifth inning was the lone one in which it got a runner in scoring position.
After getting only one baserunner in the first four innings, it also got only one more runner in the final four at bats.
With one out in the seventh, Max Draijer reached on an error, but then was caught stealing.
Amsterdam Pirates collected all eight basehits off of starter Lars Huijer, who won the Award for Best Pitcher in the past two seasons in the Dutch big league.
However, the righthander avoided giving up runs.
