A recap about only one run can be very brief.
The lone run today was scored in the bottom of the fourth inning on a wild pitch.
That's it.
What more happened in today's game?
Well, there were some scoring-opportunities and the game ended with the first ejection of the season.
In the first two innings, both teams were retired in order by starting pitchers Scott Prins (Pirates) and Nick Boxelaar (DSS/Kinheim).
A week ago, in his first start of the season, Boxelaar kept Curaçao Neptunus both scoreless and hitless in his first five innings.
DSS/Kinheim got into scoring position for the first time in the top of the third inning.
Mees Robberse led off with a single, then stole second base while next batter Jesse van den Berg struckout.
But moments later, Robberse was eliminated.
He took off from second base when Amarensio Franka hit a comebacker to Scott Prins.
Robberse got in a rundown and was eliminated.
With two outs, Franka later stole second base, but Prins then closed by striking out Nick Hofer.
Pirates got its first baserunner in the bottom of the third inning.
With two outs, Jason Jakobus singled, but he was caught stealing.
That scenario was repeated in the top of the fourth.
With two outs, Sem Kuijper then singled for DSS/Kinheim, but he also was caught stealing, but this time, after a pick-off.
Pirates then scored what would be today's lone run in the bottom of the fourth.
Alex Madera led off with a single, stole second base, then moved to third base when Jules Cremer grounded out.
With two outs and Denzel Richardson in the batter's box, Madera scored on a wild pitch.
Later, Richardson walked, but stranded on first base.
Were there more scoring-opportunities in this game?
Yes, but not that many.
DSS/Kinheim got a runner on second base with one out in the top of the sixth when Nick Hofer doubled, but two flyouts followed.

For Pirates, Jorrit Penseel and Jason Jakobus (bunt) both singled with two outs in the bottom of the fifth, but were left behind.
The home-team came closer to an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh off of new pitcher Finn Blokker.
He walked lead-off hitter Roelie Henrique, who then moved on a sacrifice bunt by Duco Nuijten and grounder by Jorrit Penseel, but then stranded on third base.
Pirates got its last runner in scoring-position in the bottom of the eighth off of Jemail Streedel.
He walked Jules Cremer with one out and saw him advance on a wild pitch with two outs.
But that was it.
DSS/Kinheim got one final chance to come alongside in the top of the ninth off of reliever Maickel Rietel, who had entered the game in the eighth and then had retired the side.
With one out in the ninth, the righthander gave up an infield-hit to Urving Kemp, who then stole second base with Sem Kuijper in the batter's box.
On the next pitch, Kuijper hit a line drive towards first base.
There, first baseman Jorrit Penseel made the catch while falling to the ground.
As Kemp was off of second base, Penseel immediately threw the ball to short stop Duco Nuijten.
The throw was low and it was a close call, but Nuijten was in touch with the base and Umpire Peter de Haan made the correct out-call, as Kemp was back too late.
And with that Kemp was out, which completed a game-ending double play.
DSS/Kinheim's Head Coach Etienne Meijer immediately stormed out of the dug-out and went into an argument.
Moments later, De Haan ejected Meijer.
Of course, everyone understood the reaction and the game-emotions of Meijer, who simply had to argue the close call, as it was only an one-run game.
But the game was over and the final score was 1-0.
