After winning with an one-run difference on Saturday with a 12-11 score, Quick Amersfoort today gave up no runs and recorded a 10-0 shutout-victory in a mercy-rule 7-inning game.
The game initially remained scoreless from both sides through the fourth inning.
UVV was retired in order in its first two at bats off of lefthander Jhan Rifaela, who had a strong outing today and struckout ten batters.
In the third inning, Rifaela gave up a lead-off single to Lucas Bekker and with two outs, Malcolm Marlin reached on an infield-hit.
But they were left behind.

With runners at the corners, Rifaela struckout the next two batters.

UVV got its next runner in scoring position in the top of the fifth.

Jordy Burger led off with a single, moved on a grounder, then advanced to third base on a single by Jurian Hansen.
After the latter had stolen second base, Quick got the bases loaded when Pascal Zegwaard walked and that led to a pitching change.
Allard Helms took the mound for UVV, but he was greeted with a 2-run single by Ibrahin Redan, then a 2-run triple by Marvin Jakobus.
And that lifted the lead to 5-0.
Helms then had a strong finish, as he struckout the next two batters.
Both teams were retired in order in the sixth.
