DSS/Kinheim led from the first inning on, but only three runs were scored through the sixth inning.
It wasn't until the seventh inning that the team really broke open the game, as nine runs were added in the seventh, eighth and ninth inning combined.
DSS/Kinheim opened the score with one run in the top of the first inning off of starter Jeremy Young.
The Australian righthander gave up a lead-off single to Nick Hofer, who stole second base, advanced on a grounder by Jochem Koedijk and scored on a grounder by Urving Kemp.
In the next three at bats, DSS/Kinheim got only one baserunner, but then added two more runs in the fifth.
The team got the bases loaded quickly, as the first three batters, Mees Robberse, Matis Crouwel and Marcel Tolenaars (bunt), all singled.
With one out, the first scored on a sacrifice fly by Nick Hofer, then another run was scored on a following single by Jochem Koedijk.
RCH-Pinguïns was kept scoreless by Rick Rizvić, who made his first start of the season.
In his five innings on the mound, Rizvić gave up only four basehits, but also walked five batters.
Nevertheless, he avoided giving up runs and RCH stranded three runners in scoring position.
Trailing 1-0, RCH came close to the tying run in its first at at.
Jeldwin Orman and Tijani Dunlop led off with singles.
In a double-steal attempt, the latter was caught stealing, but Orman ended up on third base.
With two outs, the home-team got the bases loaded when Aldrich Guzman and Denzel Brooks both walked.
Rizvić ended the scoring threat by striking out Luis Gonzalez Garay.
In the second inning, Raul Jacobs walked for RCH with two outs, but was caught stealing.
In the third, Tijani Dunlop walked with one out, but was left behind on second base.
And in the fourth inning, the DSS/Kinheim-defense turned a double play.
In the bottom of the fifth, now trailing 3-0, RCH-Pinguïns got another scoring opportunity.
Geoffrey Verhoef led off with a walk, but he was forced out on second base by the rightfielder on a hit into short rightfield by next batter Raul Jacobs.
He moved to second base on a single by Jeldwin Orman.
Again, a double-steal went unsuccessful.
Jacobs was caught stealing at third base and Orman later stranded on second base.
RCH-Pinguïns then scored what would be its lone run in the bottom of the sixth off of two relievers.
Jemail Streedel took over the pitching for DSS/Kinheim and walked lead-off hitter Sebastiaan van der Horst.
He followed with a strikeout, then gave up single to Denzel Brooks.
After the two runners had advanced on a wild pitch, Streedel got the bases loaded when he walked Luis Gonzalez Garay.
And that led to another pitching change.
Rick Timmermans took over and got a sacrifice fly from Jaison Gijsbertha, which scored Van der Horst.
A force play ended the at bat.
In the top of the seventh, DSS/Kinheim broke open the game with a 6-run rally.
The first eight batters reached base safely.
Six of them scored.
Matis Crouwel led off with a single, but was picked off by Jeremy Young, who then gave up a single to next batters Marcel Tolenaars and Amarensio Franka.
Nick Hofer followed with a runscoring single.
DSS/Kinheim then did execute a successul double-steal and with first base open, an intentional walk was issued to Jochem Koedijk.
However, a force play didn't come.
Instead, Urving Kemp followed with a 2-run single.
Hereafter, Jan-Willem Geerts took over the pitching.
He was greeted with a runscoring double by Sem Kuijper, then a 2-run single by Donny Kuijper.
After a flyout had accounted for the second out, Geerts hit Matis Crouwel with a pitch.
With two runners on base, the inning ended with a flyout, but DSS/Kinheim now led 9-1.
The tenth run was added in the eighth inning.
Amarensio Franka led off with a single and later scored on a 2-out single by Sem Kuijper.
DSS/Kinheim scored two more runs in the top of the ninth.
With one out, Matis Crouwel and Jesse van den Berg both singled.
The two moved on a wild pitch, then Crouwel scored on a grounder by Amarensio Franka.
Moments later, Van den Berg scored on the fourth single in the game by Nick Hofer.
RCH-Pinguïns got two more runners into scoring position in its final three at bats.
With one out in the seventh, off of new pitcher Marthijs Oosterbeek, Jeldwin Orman walked, moved on a grounder, then was left behind on second base.
In the eighth, Bas Timmer became the fifth pitcher for DSS/Kinheim.
He retired the side in the eighth, then gave up an one-out double to Geoffrey Verhoef in the ninth.
Timmer then caught a line drive from next batter Raul Jacobs.
Verhoef also stranded on second base, as a grounder ended the game.
