Twins Oosterhout failed to hold onto an early 2-0 lead, as Amsterdam Pirates scored in the fourth and eighth inning to come alongside.
But with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Twins scored the winning run to end the game successfully.
When the run had not been scored, the game would have ended with a 2-2 tie, as the 10:30 PM curfew-time had been reached during the ninth at bat.
No new inning can be started after that time, according to the league-rules.
Although Pirates came back from a 2-0 deficit, the team failed to take the lead.
Pirates left three runners behind in the sixth, then got the bases loaded again in the eighth, but then scored only once.
Both teams had a chance to open the score in both the first and second inning.
Twins-starter Simon Gross gave up a lead-off single to Roelie Henrique in the top of the first inning.
He stole second base, but the next three batters were retired.
In the second inning, Kenny Berkenbosch and Oliver van der Wijst Severino began the at bat with walks.
But hereafter, Jorrit Penseel grounded into a double play and Gross closed by striking out Jules Cremer.
The German righthander retired the side (two strikeouts) in the third.
Twins left runner behind in scoring position in its first two at bats off of Yassir Lachkar, who made his first start of the season.
The righthander gave up a lead-off single to Marnix Ruben, who stole second base, advanced on a wild pitch and then stranded on third base.
In the second inning, Axel Poesmans singled and stole second base, but was left there.
Twins then did open the score in the bottom of the third inning.
Jerzy van Gool led off with a single and Marnix Ruben reached on an infield-hit.
The two runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Railison Bentura.
With first base now open, a force play was set up by walking Yurdion Martie intentionally.
With the bases loaded, Luuk Bun then belted the ball into leftfield for a 2-run single.
A double play ended the at bat, but the home-team had taken an early lead.
That lead appeared not to be enough, as Twins was unable to take more distance and left five runners behind in scoring position.
On the other hand, Pirates managed to come alongside, but then also failed to do some more scoring.
Pirates scored its first run in the top of the fourth inning when veteran Kenny Berkenbosch homered with two outs.
The Amsterdam-team got its next runner in scoring position in the fifth.
With two outs, Tieme Nahuis walked and stole second base.
But moments later, the rookie was picked off at second base.
In the top of the sixth, Pirates got the bases loaded with one out off off new pitcher Filip Čapka.
The Czech righthander walked lead-off hitter Roelie Henrique, but followed with a strikeout for Duco Nuijten.
With one out, Pirates got three runners on base when both Denzel Richardson and Alex Madera singled.
They all stranded, as Čapka struckout next batters Kenny Berkenbosch and Oliver van der Wijst Severino.
Still leading only 2-1, Japanese lefthander Takuya Fukuda became the third foreign pitcher for Twins in the eighth inning and encountered some problems.
Fukuda didn't gave up a basehit, but he did allow Pirates to come alongside.
The lefthander also walked lead-off hitter Roelie Henrique, who moved into scoring position via a sacrifice bunt by Duco Nuijten.
Next batter Denzel Richardson also walked and Pirates got runners at second and third base when the two runners advanced on a grounder by Alex Madera.
Moments later, Pirates got the bases loaded again when Fukuda hit Kenny Berkenbosch with a pitch.
Shortly thereafter, Henrique scored the tying run on a wild pitch.
But the other two runners stranded on second and third base, as Fukuda struckout Van der Wijst to close the inning.
Twins had left a runner behind on third base in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh inning.
In the fourth, Berend Ruben led off with a walk and stole second base.
With two outs, he moved to third base on a single by Jerzy van Gool, but stranded there.
In the fifth, off off new pitcher Luca van Gorkum, it was Railison Bentura who led off with a walk, stole second base and advanced on a grounder.
He also was left behind on third base.
In the sixth, there was another lead-offf walk, this time again for Berend Ruben.
That was followed by a pitching change.
Finn Kragt took over, but he walked Axel Poesmans.
Next batter Thijmen Peters hit a grounder towards short stop Alex Madera.
While he was ready to field the ball, Ruben went by him.
Although he jumped over the ball, Ruben blocked the vision of Madera and was ruled out for runner-interference by veteran umpire Olav Steijger.
Poesmans later advanced on a flyout, but he also stranded on third base.
With one out in the seventh, Yurdion Martie singled and with two outs, Luuk Visser walked.
The two executed a successf double-steal, but a grounder ended the at bat.
With that, Martie became the fourth consecutive runner to be left behind on third base.
In the eighth inning, Michael Bennett became the new Pirates-pitcher and struckout three batters.
Takuya Fukuda then also retired the side in the top of the ninth, including two strikeouts.
Moments later, Twins scored the winning run off of Bennett.
Marnix Ruben led off with a bunt-single and Railison Bentura walked.
Ruben was then forced out on a following bunt by Yurdion Martie.
Bennett followed with another strikeout.
But with two outs, next batter Luuk Visser lined the ball through the middle for a walk-off single, as Bentura scored the winning run from second base.
