Neptunus encountered no problems in tonight's series-opener against Twins Oosterhout.
The team scored three runs in the first at bat and kept on adding runs from the third inning on.
But probably the biggest highlight of the evening was that Tom de Blok threw a 7-inning complete game.
The righthander struckout eight batters, walked none and gave up only two basehits, throwing only 71 pitches.
Since July 2021, De Blok had been sidelined with an injury.
Back then, he played for Amsterdam Pirates, but signed a professional contract with a Mexican club following the Olympic Global Qualifying Tournament in Mexico.
That adventure ended after one start due to an injury.
De Blok then threw in only one more inning for Pirates in the Play-Offs, but was sidelined the entire 2022 season.
Tonight, he threw his first complete game since May 13, 2021.
Back then, he also threw seven innings in a 7-inning shutout for Pirates against DSS/Kinheim.
Neptunus opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first inning off of starter Jan van den Hurk.
With one out, Roger Bernadina singled and Dwayne Kemp doubled.
The first then scored on a grounder by Arthur Bonevacia and with two outs, Christian Diaz belted a 2-run homerun.
Van den Hurk retired the side in the second inning, but then gave up another run in the top of the third, which also had an ejection.
Stijn van der Meer led off with a single, moved to third base on a single by Roger Bernadina and scored on a sacrifice fly by Dwayne Kemp.
With two outs and Christian Diaz in the batter's box, a strike-call by Home Plate Umpire Peter de Haan led to some remarks from the dug-out from Neptunus Pitching Coach Diegomar Markwell, who was then ejected.
Lefthander Terrence Garcia took over the pitching for Twins in the fourth inning.
With two outs in that at bat, he walked Rayshelon Carolina, who stole second base and scored when Stijn van der Meer followed with a single.
Two more runs were added in the top of the fifth.
First, Dwayne Kemp led off with a homerun, which was his first since August 7, 2021.
Arthur Bonevacia then singled and Christian Diaz was hit by a pitch.
After the two had advanced on a wild pitch, Garcia struckout Sheadion Jamanika.
With one out and runners on second and third base, next batter Enrique Hatma hit a grounder towards third baseman Axel Poesmans.
The ball went by the Belgian player and was fielded by short stop Railison Bentura, who then attempted to eliminate Diaz by throwing the ball to second base.
However, Diaz returned back in time and in the meantime, Bonevacia scored and Hatma reached first base on this fielder's choice.
Van den Hurk then struckout pinch-hitter and rookie Dre Celestijn, but got the bases loaded when he walked former teammate Rayshelon Carolina, who last season played for Twins.
Neptunus left three runners behind, as a flyout ended the at bat.
Neptunus increased the lead to 9-0 by scoring two more runs in the top of the sixth off of new pitcher Jeffrey Levenstone.
Roger Bernadina and Dwayne Kemp opened the at bat with their third basehit in the game.
The two advanced on a grounder by Arhur Bonevacia and with two outs, they scored on a single by Sheadion Jamanika.
The 10-run difference was reached in the seventh inning.
Dre Celestijn led off with a walk and with one out, the bases got loaded when both Stijn van der Meer and Roger Bernadina (his fourth) delivered singles.
A force play-grounder by Dwayne Kemp led to the elimination of Bernadina, but also enabled Celestijn to score.
Tom de Blok got only three baserunners and only one of them got into scoring position.
With two outs in the second inning, the righthander gave up a double to Axel Poesmans, but he then closed with a strikeout.
Beginning with that strikeout, De Blok retired ten consecutive batters.
He then gave up a lead-off infield-hit to Onne van Gool in the sixth inning.
He was later force out on a grounder by Marnix Ruben, who was the last baserunner for Twins.
With a 10-0 lead, De Blok retired the side again in the bottom of the seventh, which ended with a flyout.
