Oosterhout Twins shuts out RCH-Pinguïns with solid pitching

HEEMSTEDE (Neth.) -
Oosterhout Twins recorded a 4-0 shutout-victory in an 8-inning exhibition-game against RCH-Pinguïns on Tuesday-evening (March 19).
The team got some solid pitching, as four pitchers struckout 14 batters and gave up only two basehits.
For Twins, this was its second win in four games.
Initially, the two teams were to play in Heemstede on Saturday and in Oosterhout on Sunday.
However, due to expected rainy weather-conditions for the weekend, the teams decided to move their games.
The game in Oosterhout was played last Thursday-evening, the game in Heemstede was moved to tonight.

Twins opened the score tonight in the top of the fourth inning when Thijmen Peters scored on a sacrifice fly by rookie René de Lepper.
German righthander Simon Gross started for Twins and threw three strong innings, striking out five batters and giving up no basehits.
With Twins leading 1-0, Finn Kops took over the pitching in the bottom of the fourth.
Kops, who missed the entire last season due to an injury, added three strikeouts in two innings and gave up one basehit.
Twins added two runs in the fifth inning.
First, Luuk Visser scored on an infield-hit by Wijnand Ruben, who then scored himself on a double by his brother Berend Ruben.
Twins scored its fourth run in the sixth inning.
Onne van Gool then scored on a sacrifice fly by Gijs van Zalingen.
Jack Wagner threw the sixth and seventh inning for Twins and gave up the second and final basehit to RCH-Pinguïns.
He struckout four batters.
Raf Cocu then closed the game and added two more strikeouts in the eighth.
,,Obviously, I'm very satisfied about my pitching'', Twins Head Coach Rob Hendriks stated afterwards.
,,I'm very happy with what I've seen tonight''.
On Wednesday, American righhander Wyatt Lankford will arrive and he will join the pitching-staff of Twins.
Coming weekend, both teams will host a tournament at their home-site.
In Heemstede, RCH-Pinguïns will organize the eighth edition of the Ringvaart Tournament.
RCH-Pinguïns will be joined by Amsterdam Pirates, DSS/Kinheim and HCAW.
In Oosterhout, Oosterhout Twins will organize the first edition of the Brabant Cup.
Twins participates with both its main-squad and second team and will be joined by Jeka.
Initially, PSV also was to participate, but had to withdraw due to a pitching-problem.
