Dominican Republic completes field-of-participants Baseball Week Haarlem 2026

HAARLEM (Neth.) -
On Monday (Februay 9), the Organizing Committee of the Baseball Week Haarlem officially announced that the Dominican Republic will participate in this years 32nd edition of the biennial international tournament, which will be held June 26 through July 4.
The coming of the strong Dominican team already was shared the day before via social media-channels of the tournament.
With that, the field-of-participants is complete.
In previous days, it was announced that Curaçao, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Italy and the Netherlands will be part of the wellknown event.
For the fourth time in a row, the field-of-participants consists of six teams.
Overall, it will mark the 12th time that six teams will compete against each other.
In 1972, a record seven teams participated, one pool of four and one pool of three.
It will be the thirteenth tournament that the entire field-of-participants is compiled of National Teams.
And the tenth time in a row.
The Dominican Republic will participate for the first time in the Baseball Week and will be the eighth country to represent the Caribbean/Central America-region.
The other countries are Aruba, Cuba, Curaçao, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico.
The Dominican Republic will be the 20th different country to participate with a National Team in the Baseball Week.
In the confirmation of the Dominican Republic on Monday, the following was announced:
The Dominican Republic will participate in the Baseball Week in 2026.
With the announcement of this team, all participants have now been announced.
In addition to the Dominican Republic, the national teams of Japan, Chinese Taipei, Curaçao and Italy will be present.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands completes the lineup, making it the traditional six teams competing for victory in Haarlem.
The Dominican Republic is a true baseball nation, having produced numerous big names from the island who have reached Major League Baseball.
To make a good impression and win the hearts of Haarlem residents, Tournament Director Peter Herkemij has been promised by the Dominicans that a strong team will travel to the Spaarnestad.
