Chinese Taipei also confirmed as participant Baseball Week Haarlem 2026

HAARLEM (Neth.) -
On Saturday (January 24), the Organizing Committee of the Baseball Week Haarlem announced another participant for this years 32nd edition of the biennial international tournament, which will be held June 26 through July 4.
It was confirmed that the National Team of Chinese Taipei again will be part of the wellknown event.
On Wednesday (January 21), it was announced that Curaçao also will participate.
With Curaçao and Chinese Taipei two of the five foreign teams that will come to Haarlem are now confirmed.
The other three will be announced in the upcoming days.
Of course, host Netherlands also will participate.
Chinese Taipei will participant for the fifteenth time.
The Asian team first was in Haarlem in 1984 during the 13th edition.
The team then also participated in 1988 and 1990.
In each of these three tournaments, the team finished in fourth place.
Chinese Taipei returned to Haarlem in 2000.
From then on, the team participated in ten consecutive 'Weeks'.
Taipei didn't travel to the Netherlands in 2022, but was back in 2024.
The highest ranking in its fourteen previous Baseball Weeks was a second place in 2018.
Back then, Chinese Taipei played against Japan in the Final.
Japan won the first-ever All-Asian Final with a 5-0 score.
It marked the second time that two Asian teams finished in first and second place.
The first time was in 1978 when Japan won, followed by South Korea in what then was a round-robin tournament without a Final.
In the confirmation of Chinese Taipei on Saturday, the following was announced:
Team Chinese Taipei will participate in Baseball Week Haarlem this Summer.
The prestigious international baseball event will take place from June 26th to July 4th at the Pim Mulier Stadium in Haarlem.
Chinese Taipei, winner of the 2024 WBSC Premier 12 tournament, is the second participant officially announced for the upcoming edition.
Chinese Taipei has been a welcome guest at Baseball Week for several years and is known for its attractive and high-quality baseball.
The team consistently ranks among the world's top players in the WBSC world rankings and comes to Haarlem with the clear ambition to compete for the overall victory.
Tournament Director Peter Herkemij is delighted with the return of the Asian top team:
''Chinese Taipei is a highly valued participant and is among the best baseball nations in the world.
Moreover, the national team possesses exceptional talent.
It is therefore an honor to welcome them back to the Pim Mulier Stadium this Summer.
