Twins announces transfers

OOSTERHOUT (Neth.) - The softball-team of Twins, which relegated after having played in 27 consecutive seasons in the Dutch big league, announced its transfers on Thursday, November 1. The team added five players to its rosters, while three players left and two others retired.

Catcher/3B Sophie Bugter, who batted .235 (28-for-119), scored eight runs and had seven RBI's, will play for Alcmaria Victrix in the new season.

Infielder Sandy Lauwers, who hit the team's only two homeruns, moved to Gryphons. This season, she was the team's second best hitter with a .282 average (31-for-110) and seven RBI's. She also led the team with 31 basehits and 16 runs scored.

Outfielder Kirsten Molle returns to Euro Stars. In the season, she batted only .071 (5-for-70) with two runs scored and two RBI's.

Coming to Oosterhout are some young players, included Damishah Charles (Saints) and Kelly van Rijst (Gryphons), who both can be played in the infield and outfield. Added from the Twins-youth is outfielder Noor Godefroy and coming from Belgium is pitcher Evelyne De Wolf. Also new is American infielder/outfielder Morgan Stuart, who played for the University of Washington.

Daisy de Peinder, who was in her first complete season as Head Coach, returns in 2013 and will be assisted again by Frank Zaal.
