Anne Blaauwgeers, who turned 24 a few days ago, will play for Rhibo La Loggia in the Italian Softball League. In October, National Team-pitcher Dagmar Bloeming and catcher Nathalie Timmermans (who both play for Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem) already confirmed that they also will play in Italy next season. Besides this trio, outfielder Saskia Kosterink will return for her fourth season to Italy, where she has played for Bollate. On the other hand, pitcher Lindsey Meadows will return to the Dutch big league. This season, the righthander also played for Bollate, but she will be in the circle in 2013 for Olympia Haarlem. In 2011, outfielders Nathalie Gosewehr and Linda Hoenderdos (both Caserta) also played in Italy.

In the 2012 season, Anne Blaauwgeers led Alcmaria Victrix with a .406 batting average, 42 runs scored, 56 basehits and 16 stolen bases. She was third in the team with 15 runs batted in and tied for third place with eight extra basehits.

This year, La Loggia finished in second place in the regular season behind league-leader Caserta. The team was then eliminated in the Play-Offs by Bollate, as the team was swept in three games. Caserta went on to defeat Bollate 3-2 in the best-of-five final.
