Sparks Haarlem continued its unbeaten streak on Sunday by winning big vs. Dutch champion Alcmaria Victrix, 12-3. Because of its injuries and small roster, Alcmaria today had several guest-players from Amsterdam Pirates.

Alcmaria got a runner on third base in the first inning when Suzanne Meiring led off with a single, then moved on sacrifice bunts by Maaike Blaauwgeers and Raina Hunter. But she was left when a grounder followed. Moments later, Sparks Haarlem opened the score with two runs in its first at bat. Chantal Versluis led off with a single, moved on a sac-bunt by Nathalie Gosewehr, then scored when Karin Tuk hit a homerun. A single by Debby Connor and double by Virginie Anneveld followed, but they stranded.

With two outs and Suzanne Meiring (fielder's choice) on first base, an error was made on a grounder by Maaike Blaauwgeers. The bases then got loaded when Raina Hunter walked. Next, Jessie van Aalst cleared the bases with a 3-run triple to give the Alkmaar-squad a 3-2 lead.

The lead was shortlived, as Sparks Haarlem answered with a 10-run rally in the long home half of the third inning. In the at bat, eight hits were registered. The rally began with a lead-off triple by Nathalie Gosewehr, who then scored the tying run on a single by Karin Tuk. A single by Debby Connor and walk for Virginie Anneveld then loaded the bases. Two runs were then scored on a single by Shannah van der Kaaij and the bases got re-loaded when Michelle van Driel walked. Next, a run was scored on a single by Manoa Weijgertse, then a force out at home followed on a grounder by Beau van Gelder. The next two runs were added on a single by Chantal Versluis. A force out then followed on a grounder by Nathalie Gosewehr and three runs were added when Karin Tuk hit her second homerun of the game. Karin collected six RBI's in this game.
